Hey guys,
I tried WILDing this afternoon. I've been feeling under the weather and decided to take a nap and figured I might as well try and have a LD while I'm at it. So I laid down in bed and got comfortable. I tried to relax as best as I could so as to try and attain SP, which I've been struggling with as well, and kind of lost focus and started to drift off.
Just before falling asleep I awoke with a start. My heart was beating pretty quickly but for some reason I didn't open my eyes. So I remembered what I was doing and just sat there. I explored this feeling and it was... weird. My limbs (except my left right foot which had edged out of the blankets and had an oscillating fan blowing on it every 10 seconds) had gone sort of numb, and I had a hard time figuring out precisely where there were located with regards to the rest of me. I didn't see any HI or anything though. Regardless, I didn't want to move so as to mess things up, so I just laid there, trying to visualize something. I probably laid there for 20 minutes or so and then just drifted off to sleep. I would try and let my body fall asleep without me and I sort of received a slipping, drifting away feeling at one point, but I would sort of check in on my body and it wouldn't feel any different than when I'd first been jolted awake.
Is my problem just that my mind won't stay awake long enough for my body to fall asleep? Or am I doing something fundamentally wrong with the WILD technique? I seem to have a problem finding the line between having a completely awake mind, and completely losing focus and just falling asleep. Any and all input is appreciated.
Thanks guys.
