Question Becoming lucid at the end of a dream?

hey everyone i've kinda been inactive from these forums in a while, but i just had to post because i had an awesome dream.

It started off on a other dream before, were me and some random dc's were trying to get over some fences and some little kids were playing tag and when we jumped over the fences they were like wtf? and then i woke up from that dream.

of course i didn't remember the whole dream so i knew i would have another dream soon so i repeated a mantra like, "i will lucid dream" and then it kind of happened.

It started off in some apartment where i assumed i lived with some other random dc's, and one of them was on a computer and learned how to manipulate other dc's(weird huh?) so the dream kinda stopped there and we reappeared in some office(which i assume again where we all worked) and we said some random phrase and the bosses and co-workers just sat their with blank faces. and then the dream moves again to another area.

here's were it kinda get's weird..

we kinda arrive at a kroger-type section shopping area and there is a window with a lady in a bathtub(wtf i know right) it's about midnight and there is a lot of stars but no moon.
instead of some random dc's i only see 1 of them and i see my friend paul and someone i don't know that well, james.(they both go to a skatepark i go to) and we go into a gamestop(or gamestore i don't know) we look around and the random dc shouts out some phrases and the workers there are looking blank and confused again, and we decide to steal. my friend paul is took some random game guide and walked out, and i didn't know where the random dc was, or james, the dude i kinda knew. so i found skate 1, 2, 3 on some random shelf and i took them all.

we were laughing as we ran out of the store, i was kind of afraid to steal the games so i put them on the floor of the store,(i didn't want to get in trouble) but my friend paul was like "dude wtf get the games, they are none of them on the top level (i assume he meant not watching a camera feed), so i ran back in and got them, haha.

and then when we got in some random car, my friend paul said "where's james?" ,in a window we saw james, standing near a bathtub with a naked women in it, there scooping up soapy water still standing there and pouring it on.(the same one from the beginning)

right there i was like, this can't be real so i did a reality check, and it worked, i looked around and i was said "wow, i can't believe i did a RC right now..." and the random DC responded back like,"dude i know.." it was pretty weird.

I love having dreams like this but, how come when i always get lucid, i stop remembering my dream, or my dream just goes away?? this scenario has happened like 3-4 times before, and i'm kind of tired of it.

      help please?

      Two possible explanations:

      1. You become lucid toward the end of your REM period when you awareness naturally approaches wakefulness.

      2. The excitement or confusion of becoming lucid makes the dream lose stability.

For both cases, the approach is the same. You want to become lucid earlier and more frequently, and you want to maintain lucidity longer. All the usual advice applies: Keep up with your DJ and RCs. Be confident that you can lucid dream and that you can maintain the dream. Use stabilization techniques to anchor yourself in the dream.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
