Was i close???

About a year ago i tried lucid dreaming a whole bunch and only manged 1 dream that was like 10 seconds. But the past few nights ive been having very vivid dreams and remembering them alot. But a night or two ago i cant remember for sure but i was in a dream where i saw two girls argueing and then i thought to myself "im dreaming" so after i realised that i walked up to the girls and tried to control them by thinking real hard in my mind for one of the girls to slap the other one and it didn't happen then i thought maybe their friends so i wanted them to kiss eachoher (i know im weird) and they didnt they just stsrted argueing again. Its like whenever i was thinking something in my head they did kinda the opposite. Can someone please help me out and tell me whats going on and if i was close.

Seems like you had a lucid, just lacked control. It may have Gotten a better result had you said out loud what you wanted. But keep in mind the world around you is created by your subconscious, and you're controlling yourself, not the world (without proper control). If you knew that realistically they wouldn't do a certain thing, then without good control you'd have a hard time changing it.
