      anyone else immune to nightmares?

I find it funny, I want to have nightmares. Every time I have a nightmare or something seems off first thing I do is RC, resulting in an LD anyone else "immune" to nightmares like I am?

I wouldn't say I'm immune to nightmares so much as that I simply never have them. Or at least, I haven't had one in over ten years now.

Mind you, stuff happens in my dreams that some people would call nightmarish (people out to kill me or the world being on the brink of destruction - happens a lot). But I actually enjoy those dreams in the same way I enjoy a good action flick on TV. I can't for the life of me recall a dream I was happy to wake up from.

I have not truly had a nightmare in years. The closest ive had in the year or so ive been doing LDing was in one where I thought that Serj was dead, and i felt genuinely sad.
Plenty of bad stuff has happened in my dreams- the entire world on fire, police trying to arrest me, being attacked by an army of aliens... But I usually deal with these problems, and wouldn't really consider them nightmares. Even if someone tries to kill me while I am non lucid, I don't feel scared.

I dont have nightmares anymore and if I have something somewhat scary, I dont find it scary at all. When I was younger I use to have nightmares a lot so every night before I went to bed I would say, "I won't have bad dreams tonight." I would say it about three times and I havn't had bad dreams since. i don't say that anymore but for some reason now I never have nightmares. I don't consider scary things a bad dream. I consider sad real life things a bad dream. Like the other night I think I had a dream that someone died or someone got really injured that I know. Know to me that is scary because thats something that can happen in real life.

This is exactly like it is for me. I enjoy them instead of being scared.

The only bad dreams I get is a recurring one i've had since childhood. I can't even explain, but I feel so guilty during it. It's horrible.

ya I got the same as mcginnis. I never have nightmares but I do have action packed dreams where I could die but I'm normally not that scared. Like the difference between a thriller movie and a horror movie

Have you tried asking your dreamscape to give you something incredibly horrific, or teleporting somewhere nightmareish?

Dreams usually like to give us what we want...

I don't have nightmares often. I think understanding the dreamworld more helps remove fear, and then its hard for any nightmare to form. Just scare yourself shitless regularly before you go to sleep, that'll help.

It is more because we know how to counter them that we do not categorize them as ''nightmares''

Give a sword to the hero, he's going to wipe an army for you.
Give the sword to a simple farmer, he's just going to cower away from the opponent.
      ...

My personal way to see it, I am currently going through a stressful waking life at the moment, and having those ''nightmares'' from time to time.

I guess it depends on what a nightmare is to you?

I've had apocalypse dreams, dreams of being chased by the devil, killed by cougars, etc. I think those types of dreams are awesome.

A nightmare for me would involve something like losing a loved one or the home I've lived in all my life, or being back at university. I definitely wouldn't wish for any more of those.

I don't have them, nor do I see why I would desire to. My focus is reasoning. I have been given problems to solve in dreams. My concern has been about finding a wife, and seeking to accomplish things together, however, I very rarely ever even find a companion in a lucid dream.

I don't know if I'm immune to nightmares, need to have more dreams first.
