Correlation Between Time On DV and Number Of LDs

I'm one of those people who will find something that he enjoys doing, and will do it for 3-5 months non-stop and then randomly get bored of it and find something new. After several years of doing this, things started to repeat (such as DV and xbox) and so I recently came back to DV (as in 10 minutes ago ) after a couple months of not being on, and I noticed an interesting correlation between LDs and my time on DV.

Before my break I would be on DV about an hour a day, or maybe 2-3 if I have a lot of free time. During that time, I had about 2-3 Lucid Dreams a week and had excellent dream control. However, after I stopped getting on a noticed a decline in the number of LDs I had, which slowly went down to about 1 every other week. The same thing happened after I took a break (about 3 weeks) the first time, but at that time I only managed to get 1 LD a week, and maybe 2 if I was lucky. However that still declined after I stopped getting on.

I think that I found the source of this, and it dates back to something I read about a year ago, which was that about 5% of our daily life carries over into our dreams (rough approximation). I figured that if I spend an hour a day on DV then I have about a 4% chance of being on DV carrying into my dreams (not including any self-training) and not being on DV means that the only time I think of LDing throughout the day is when I'm not doing anything and it pops into my head (not usually) and as I'm laying in my bed about to fall asleep.

My conclusion: The more you are on DV, the more likely you are to have a lucid dream. (Don't stay on 18 hours a day though, it's not worth it )

I think you are right, but it is not just DV that can have this effect. When you show your sub-conscious self that something is important, it usually responds. So if you emphasize anything that is dream related (books, videos, DV, lectures, etc) you will probably have increase LD activity and success.
