So I can't even get to sleep easily now. I lay down and close my eyes and immediately start seeing things so grotesque and horrifying that you'd think I was playing Silent Hill or something. (I haven't been playing it) |

you might need professional help, there are certain pills that reduce dreaming and other related symptoms, try telling yourself they are not there and maybe that'll help, but if you seriously see things like that you could be in more trouble, i really dont know but whatever, ask your doctor. |

***2 Roll 4 Life 7***F:CS
I have had very similar experiences and have often been too scared to go to sleep. What works for me is prayer. I don't know if you have spiritual beliefs or if you believe in God, but for me, I find myself on my knees (literally -before going to sleep -and during the middle of my dreams/nightmares) When praying, I ask God for protection and for the ability to not see these grotesque images. This works for me because of my faith in Christ and in God as being in control on every plane of existence. I do not think that it would work for everyone. I also often "think" of music that is uplifting to the soul. Especially music that I can remember well enough to focus on remembering lyrics and music at the same time. This can be difficult, but focusing your mind on anything else may help to distract your mind from any feeling of fear or anxiety will probably help you to stop seeing such negative images. |

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
does this happen jsut for a few seconds with your eyes closed or ongoing when you keep them closed? if it were me i would first try listening to music /w my cd player, then sneak to my computer and post more replies, then go back to my room, then write in my dream jornal, or read something, and if any of that didnt work i would do push-ups or sittups and then if i was really tired by then maybe i would fall asleep right away but if i didnt i would just keep listening to music and then i might repeat some of the things i already said or do them in a different order. yeah. just a few suggestions |
