Pulling a story out of your subconscious

This is slightly off topic, but I've been thinking that next LD I have (hopefully tonight! *optimism*) I want to ask a dream character to tell me a story.

I'm curious if it would be good creative material or just dream BS. I'd also like to create a character from a story I'm already writing in a dream and ask them "What happens next?" or "What was ___ like?" or the like, you know what I mean. Any thoughts on this / people who've already tried it?

I have not tried this, but I have heard of a few people who write book's, they will summon a character from their book and have a conversation with them about what might happen, or some things about them etc. I have also heard of a few artist that, stand in front of a door in a LD, expect a random painting to be behind it, open up the door, memorize the painting or image, wake up and duplicate it.

That sounds like it could be cool if it worked. Unfortunately I've not heard good things about DC's and their level of intelligence. lol

Well, my DCs have been incredibly weird at times, but they're usually not stupid, especially if I'm focusing on them. I don't know, I guess I'll just try it out and see
