Pulling Out of a Lucid Dream

I've done some lucid dreaming before but never really with a lot of a knowledge about it or really strong desire, just simply by accident. I've been browsing the site as a guest for a while and learned quite a bit about it and techniques. Last night I first attempted it with serious intent. However as I began to feel myself slip into a different type of sleep which I quickly recognized as sleep paralysis and I felt my body begin to tingle violently and forced myself out of that state. Any advice on how to go through with it and has this happened to anyone else? I used isochronic tones first and then attempted a WILD which I'm having mixed feelings about.

Well that is perfectly normal to feel that (and hear/see) many other things during sleep paralysis. Some people find it very scary, others are fascinated by it. To help overcome it what I did was simply just tell myself it's all in my head and nothing can hurt me, I create these, and I can stop if I need to. It's very alien and new to a lot of people and it takes time getting use to. Also know that you do this every single night you just aren't awake for it. There's nothing to be afraid of, it can't hurt you. It won't suffocate you, you can move your limbs just fine when you wake up. Your brain sends signals to all your limbs shutting them down so you don't move during a dream (imagine if this didn't happen, and your bf/gf woke up and you were humping the air in your dream ) Keeps us from waking up by flailing around. I'm sure you know all that just stating. Just try not to be scared tell yourself it's all in your head. Just think of what lies after the SP. A great world of Lucid Dreams :]

      Good luck have fun!

^^ That's good advice from MadWorld there! Another thing to remember is that everything you're feeling is created by your own brain. None of it is external. With that in mind, you can exert a little bit of control over it- if it gets too weird or scary. Feeling like you're tingling all over? Imagine you've just been lowered into a warm bath and the tingling is about to give way to comfortable warmth. That's a stupid example... Some people report the feeling of rolling around their bed, or falling on the floor. You can direct this a bit too.

Anyway, just think of it like a ride at an amusement park and go with it!
