I haven't, but don't you think it may just be sleep paralysis? |

Right, basically after a dream and before waking up I, on occasion, like today, have an FA, where I'm lying in my bed but know it's a dream, and it's impossible to get up, like, really impossible, (I know it's sometimes hard to get up in FA's but this is different) and then after usually 5-10 seconds I do wake up and my viewpoint doesn't change (I'm still seeing the same thing as I was in the "dream")- you also know you are about to wake up. Now, I guess this could be classified as a hypnopomic state but has anyone else experienced something similar? |

Sounds like sleep paralysis, but you have 976 posts under your belt and I would wager someone who's been posting that much would have come across an explanation of what SP is before. |

right, sorry, I should have been more detailed - when in that state, for example earlier today, the entire thing felt "dreamy/distorted" and the fingers on my hand (it was over my head) were sharp and my hand was weird in general. Was I in SP? sure, as during all dreams. Is it a hypnopompic state? probably, but I'm wondering if anyone else here has had similar experiences and what they make of em. |

I get the same way. I am in a LD but then I can open my eyes and see the room that I am in. I cannot move but I feel like I can. If I close my eyes I can go right back into a LD. I know my hands are, let's say at my side, but I "move" them in front of my face and can kind of see them. The only way for me to wake up from this is to squeeze my eyes shut very tight and try to shake my head back and forth to snap out of it. But even if I wake up, I can go right back into a LD if I do it within a few minutes of just laying there. |

Awww dude I had two of these in one night I would go lucid and have a FA except I couldent move first one I had like this image flashing on my eyes (within the dream) and the second my whole room became distorted and started folding in on itself lol I wasnt aware that I was dreaming though...I dont know what to make of them to be honest they scared the shit out of me |

Yes, I understand the nuance yuriythebest is trying to describe between SP and this....it has happened to me on several occasions in my past. It's almost just like sleep paralysis, but you're still in a frequency slightly off this one. (So you can actually hallucinate while SEEING your room and all the other normal stuff...) Let me share with you one of my most bizzare dreams EVER that I had about 6 years ago with this exact thing occurring. |

I have experienced this before....I dont know exactly what it was but I was in a deep sleep and I knew that I would wake up in a couple of minutes....In my dream I was staring at my ceiling fan and when I woke up I was still looking at my fan... |

I think I had something similar. |
