      Lucid Without Clarity

      Hello,

I am new to DreamViews. That does not mean I am new to Lucid Dreaming, however.
In my recent LD's, I know I'm dreaming and can perform tasks, however I didn't feel totally... clear. I mean, it's hard to explain, but when I LD, I expect it to be clear, just like real life. I expect to see everything with clarity. However, my dreams aren't clear. Not so much fuzzy, more so dull. I don't feel like I'm in my body, but more like I'm in my head, watching myself from inside. Weird, I know, and it's incredibly hard to explain, but I'm trying. I kinda felt like I was running on auto-pilot, despite knowing I was dreaming, and being able to perform tasks. However, that was all I could do. Perform tasks. I could teleport myself, change back the clock with my mind, and open and close things with my mind. But, I did what I was told, I had no control over when, why, or how I did things. I went with the flow, I guess. I'm just so confused... Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Welcome to my world! This happens to me way too much

Try staring at an object. I've heard this helps with clarity, but I haven't had a recent lucid to test this out. Or you could try yelling "Clarity now!" but that hasn't worked for me yet either lol

Yeah my dreams are quite out of focus even when I get lucid, however I am improving this through three methods. Firstly rubbing your hands (yes I know this is for stabilisation but I find that the heat and the subsquent friction increases the realness and hence it becomes clearer) Secondly I find commands as Jay pointed out such as "Increase Lucidity now" really help. Thirdly I find that if I rush a lucid dream i.e. I go lucid and im like I really need to do my "" really quickly ill run around and it will be blurry and out of focus. To combat this once I have done the previous two things that I have mentioned I slow down I look around I touch the environment and ask myself what this feels like, if it is raining what does the rain feel like? What can I hear what can I smell this also aids in clarity. I am trying to combine all three techniques to have a clear lucid dream, hope these help

Wow, you guys were quick to answer. Thank you for that. So, focusing on an object, commands, and the five senses increase clarity. Thanks for that. I will make sure to try.

I understand. I think I just need to get a better grasp on my lucidity. I don't think I've been completely lucid, more so just semi-lucid. But, it never hurts to try. Thank you for your input.
