      spinning=nightmare!

      dreamers. please help!

      i have read that spinning within a dream may help stablize and make dreams more lucid. may even change scenery! so far ive done this "spinning" in four dreams upon becoming lucid, everytime i get this feeling in my gut, and scared outta my pants. why is this????

      the last occurance was last night after listening to some binaural beats and i actually fell asleep saying to myself, "I will not be scared. Its just a dream" over and over. actually raising my voice and starting to scream as i spun faster and faster and still, i got so scared i woke up.

      comments would be GREAT!

      I don't see why your getting scared, does something happen while your spinning? Are you afraid where you may go? There is other stabilization stuff you could do other than spinning.

      If you're spinning rather quickly, that's what can destabilize the dream and lead you to other places. From what you've posted, that might be what you're afraid of?

      If you spin slowly as if you're just looking around, nothing bad should happen because you're focusing on your surroundings. Like Raetin said, you can always use other stabilization techniques, including touching objects.
      We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
      some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      right, i dont really know why i get so scared. its not intentional obviously. it just might be linked to the choas and lack of control while spinning. i do however always get scared because there is always this same ominous figure in every lucid dream...appearing right after spinning! so its almost as if my head knows that if i spin, that thing is going to appear, so i get scared. idk guys, i really dont.

      All I can tell you is that it's a dream so you nothing will happen to you and so kill the ominous figure, or talk with it, or if you can't help it, don't spin.

      i know everybody keeps saying that. but man, dreams are so freakin wierd and confusing!
      last time i fell asleep telling myself "its only a dream, nothing will hurt you" over and over. i remember as
      i got closer and closer to dream state, i started yelling it louder and louder. things started spinning, and everything was
      choas. the figure started to appear and i woke up scared.
