why do you keep a dream journal?

i think most of us keep them to help lucid dream. i'm wondering: if you could not lucid dream would you still keep one or forget about it?

Well, at first it was to help with my Lucid Dreaming, but now I really enjoy keeping one. I've not kept one for that long, but already it's helped me to remember parts of another dream. So all in all, I believe it helps, and even if I could not Lucid Dream, I believe now, I would happily keep one.

It helps me, because it gets me into the habbit of remembering my dreams right when I wake up. I'd keep it because it reveals common dream elements, that you could reconize in a dream.

cool! i feel the exact same way! this is exactly my story in fact. i now feel a strong connection with my dreams in general and because of that my dream journal as well. this is actually why i took a picture of it and made it my signature. then after that i decided to see if everyone else loves there's as much as i do

Also some of the dreams I have are really quite unusual and give me good laugh. They sort of make me think "WTF, how did my brain come up with that."

So yeah, if they didn't help with Lucid Dreams, I would still keep one.
fantastic! yeah for the funny dreams especially! i love my funny dreams, i can read one from years ago and remember it still and laugh again! good stuff!
