      Was This a Lucid Dream?

A couple of weeks ago I got interested in lucid dreaming, read some about it and decided to try because I have excellent dream recall, my friends say they only have/remember a dream about once a month, I remember at least one dream quite vividly almost everyday.
After reading about it I thought the main aim was to realize your dreaming. So I was having a very real dream in my house and it was similar to war of the worlds outside, a bus flew past my window at which point I suddenly thought "this cant be happening........is this a dream?" So i remembered a reality check I read were you look at your hands, and you should not be able to visualize them properly in a dream. My hands looked perfect, I could notice very small details on my hands clearly, at which point I panicked a bit because I was accepting this could actually be real, all the while massive machines where looking at me outside my window and I woke up. This was all extremely real feeling.
And last night, I was dreaming and for a reason I can't quite remember I realized I was dreaming, got excited but calmed myself and instantly wanted to fly, So I tried to make my ceiling in my house open up so I could fly out haha, that didn't happen, but I was sure I was dreaming, so I took a chance and jumped down my stairs head first, and slowed my decent and stopped in mid air near the bottom. So now I was excited, I ran for my door to try to fly outside and my mother started talking to me, which I took seriously, forgetting I was dreaming. I remembered again and went outside, I couldn't quite fly I jumped about 20 meters like low gravity but I would fall. I noticed everything was very real, I could feel wind on my face, feel textures clearly and even a little pain on the balls of my feet when I landed. I met a girl I know at the bottom of my road, I instantly thought I want to have sex with her, and began a search for a good place to do so, but from that point I kept forgetting I was dreaming and taking bizarre circumstances seriously, until I just slipped into another dream, involving racing some kind of creature round an obstacle course that resembled a multiplayer map from halo while meeting ppl with important supplies in weird locations, like the top of a slide lol.
I'm not sure if this was lucid because how frequently normal dream scenarios would happen, like a guy shouted at me until he realised I was related to his mate, then we had an almost drunk discussion (were you act like your good friends with ppl you dont know) then I realised I was dreaming again, and continued to find a place to have sex with this girl I met (quite excitedly)
I was drinking earlier that night btw, it is new years.

It was a lucid dream ,yes Looking at your hands isn't a very good reality check, but it can be useful to keep yourself in the dream. When you feel yourself waking up look at your hands and notice all the tiny details. You should stay in the dream, it works fine for a lot of people on dreamviews. . .lol, I once tried to fly and make the ceiling disappear and slammed my head onto it. Very painful.
Once you know that you are dreaming in your dream then you are considered lucid. Even if you realize this and then wake up, it is still considered a lucid dream. You can take advantage of waking up using the DEILD method ( see dreamviews's tutorial section). With this, if you wake up out of a dream you can get back in.
You can also try WILD or CANWILD. These are pretty hard, but the most rewarding.
      Anyways, Happy Dreaming!
