Lightbulb Rain to increase vividness (theory)

So I've heard from a lot of posts that when you swim everything in your dream becomes realy vivid, but stops when you stop swimming.
So I was thinking, if you could make it rain in your dream then could that make the same result? Since they both involve water touching your body. Although you'd have to have some control to make it rain in the first place.

      Just a theory

That's interesting, I'm gonna test that tonight.

Now that you mention it, I don't think it ever rains in my (normal) dreams. I don't recall one dream in which it's been rainy. I recently had a dream in which the outside was flooding feet high, but I never actually saw rain.

Yeah, it's never rained in mine either. I think you might need to watch out that it's not too heavy, that might wake you up. Or I might just be thinking stupidly

I'm sure it's going to increase vividness. Anything that makes you focus on any of your senses does. Being naked in the rain and feel every droplet of water hit your body would be amazing...

I don't often have water dreams but the ones I do have usually turn me lucid. I have an idea actually...

I saw a video two years ago in my science class that researched sound (IWL) when you're dreaming. The first time the girl dreamed, they played wind noises and she dreamed of being on a windy hill. The second time they played sirens and she dreamed of fire.

So maybe you could do a WBTB, and fall asleep listening to rain or water noises (you can get free apps for iPod Touch/iPhone) and maybe use MILD to try inducing a lucid.

      I might try it...

Interesting. Many of my most vivid dreams actually do involve water. I had one lucid where it was raining lightly and it was amazing. The air is usually damp or humid in my LDs.

Or get a fountain. I have a small plug-in fountain in my room and I might try this. I also find many of my more immersing dreams involve water. It just to be one of my dream signs when like 90% of my dreams involved water, not anymore.

I made it rain in a dream a few weeks ago for the task of the month, getting struck by lightning. It sort of increased the vividness at first, but I was making a storm and eventually putting all my focus into that made me lose control.

It;s fun to drink raindrops in dreams.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.
