I'm sorry, but reading that followed immediately by your signature was just kinda funny.

      To be honest... no.

You're going to stress yourself by saying that. And it's going to cause you to be mentally exhausted after some time.

Lol well yea and had to use the bathroom too. Then I got hungry and went to the fridge. The wife said "while I'm up we might as well go for a drive". But it's the 'thought' right

Well, you have to be confident, but you can't stress yourself. And then it really depends on what method you're using for having your first LD too.

If you're WILDing, the stress will cause you to not be able to lose enough consciousness to enter into hypnogogia/sleep paralysis.

For DILDing, it's partially luck based anyways, because you can't really know exactly how you will act non consciously unless you spend your entire life doing RCs.

and for MILDing, I don't typically use this one but I still really feel like it's about being confident, and implanting an idea in your head, but of course, you still have to sleep.

      Good luck!

I've been working on milds and spend half my day at least with the ld idea in my head. It's obviously a little frustrating, after the efforts (including the 'trying less' method) and telling people about it (who think I'm crazy), and not coming up with any results after a month.

I know at this point it's up to me. Im not asking everyone what to do anymore. Alot of people here have been really patient and respectful. I appreciate that.

I'm going to walk away from it now and if it happens, then great, I'll let you all know. But I'm going to let my past efforts take over, maybe do some checks and mantra. If nothing happens after that then it wasn't for me.

Instead of "I am not leaving this bed until I have my first ld", try "I will continue practicing RCs (and whatever other methods you'd want to use) and not stop until I have my first ld" (and when I've had it I will continue and have more and more)

I tried MILDs at first. They were a pain in the neck. Then I sort of started just doing
reality checks and keep my dream journal and had a DILD eventually. Now I'm working
on WILD because its awesome and I'm getting close. I hear it sometimes works for MILD
to say "I will realize I am dreaming" or something like that while you fall asleep. In any
case, you have to realize that lucid dreaming is hard. It's something you have to strive
for, you can't do it in one night.

      Hope this helps,
      ~Wes

If you have a regular sleep schedule and aren't stressed too much, WILD can be pretty easy. It's how I've had 9/10 of my Lucids, and I started about 2 or 3 weeks ago, so that's a pretty decent record, becoming new to the concept and going to having up to 5 lucids in a row a few nights ago is pretty insane.

The catch that most a lot of info on WILD fails to mention I think is that you do have to be close to going to sleep, but still able to hold onto at least a sliver of your consciousness.

That being said, failed WILDs can also turn into lucid dreams, because you will be somewhat thinking about lucid dreaming right after you go to sleep, if you accidentally do.

Oh, and if you're not doing WBTBs, that's pretty much crucial.
