      vitamin b6

i read that vitamin b6 improves dream recall. But how can you possibly get enaugh vitamin b6. The recommended amount of b6 a day is 100mg but most foods only contain 0.5 mg per portion. For example you would have to eat 200bananas a day, that can't be healthy. Or did i miscalculate?

In the United States, you can buy all kinds of vitamin supplements at drug stores, grocery stores, and vitamin/health stores. My local grocery store supplies most of my dream vitamin needs. I have a bottle of B-6 tablets that are 100mg each.

Edit: I just now noticed you are from the Netherlands. I don't know if B vitamins are as easily obtainable there.

Pills from any major pharmaseutical company will be 100% safe for you (save you don't overdose)
Last night i took a multivitamin that included B6 and B12 and I was the closest i've ever been to lucid!
But it's completely up to you, so i'll let you decide

Not true at all. Have you not seen any commercials for any drug? There's always possible side effects, and sometimes those side effects can be life changing/threatening.
However, for vitamins as long as you take them in moderation you shouldn't have any problems. You can overdose on some vitamins though so don't over do it. As far as b6 goes, I haven't tried it. Any lucid supplement I've tried hasn't worked. I think dedication and continuing to practice lucid techniques every day is more beneficial than any pill/herb/food.

the side effects of b6 overdosing are rather extreme, it can cause permanent nerve damage. The recomended amount of B6 is about 2mg a day. Those pils contain about 100mg. I dunno it seems tricky to me.

I know that before i said the recomended amount was a 100mg, but that is suppose to be the recomended maximum amount of b6.

I'm not sure where you heard about the extreme side effects of b-6 overdose. Of course, everything is dangerous if you overdose. Even water can kill you if you drink too much of it. But all I have heard about taking too much vitamin b-6 is temporary nerve damage that comes after a prolonged usage.

I take vitamin b-6 as part of my daily vitamin regimen. I used to take 50-100mg every day, and it never did me any harm. Those 5 hour energy drinks contain at least that much. Obviously if it was dangerous they wouldn't sell it over the counter, especially in the US where lawyers are just waiting for a chance to sue somebody.

Anyway, it has been my experience that you don't need 100mg for vivid dreams. In fact, if I take too much it seems to impair my dreaming and I just get a jumble of incoherent dream fragments. About 50mg is all I take, when I do take it.

I guess if you're concerned you could ask a pharmacist, or your doctor. I'm no professional.
