More reality check types = more dream signs

I've heard that the part of the brain that processes and analyzes information basically shuts off while dreaming. I've also noticed that the only shurefire thing that alerts me in my sleep that I'm dreaming is looking at a clock, the reality check I use throughout the day. Even if I'm floating in space next to my friends, it's a clocks jumbled numbers that alert me. What would happen if I added more types of reality checks throughout the day, would I have more dream signs?

It seems that I have a certain reality check that turns into a permanent dream sign instead of the other way around. Any one notice something similar?

Does more types of reality checks mean more types of dream signs?

Well I do the nose pinch reality check and finger-palm poke. Sometimes I do one or both of them in my lucid dreams. There are also recurring dream signs but I don't normally become lucid to them but I would imagine that one day I will recognize them more spontaneously as dreamsigns. So it could happen the other way round also I guess. You will end up reality checking to those dreamsigns.

I'm sure if you had a lot of rc you could have a higher chance at LD because theres more chances you will reconize them but since you say you become lucid due to the clock i would start working on that rc and anotherone or 2 just as much to try and set them in your mind to make you lucid i do the nose pinch mostly and i have became lucid 2 times because of it and yeah so im sure it would work.

Ok that's a good idea. Right now I do a clock RC and see that in my dreams, so I'll add a different type of visual RC and see if it starts ending up my dreams. Maybe I'll try to fly at random times
