      Dream Worlds

      Hey Guys,

This may be something that has been brought up a couple times, but I'm curious. How far can we go as being able to create a dream world that we can keep going back too?
For example, I want to create a dream world based off a world in a book. But I would want it to be exactly how it was when I left it ( stopped dreaming ). Also, I would want it to be the same time everytime, and have the citizens that populate it remember me, and remember past experiences. Seeing as this is all in the mind, can it be done to a great capacity?

      Thanks guys

Yeah I think it can be done. DCs will remember events that took place, as long as you remember. I've been able to re-visit several "worlds" that I'd had LDs in before, because I had a vivd memory of them. As long as you can imagine the place in your head pretty well, it shouldn't be a problem. The hard part is finding your way back to the world.

It is very possible. Many times the details will change in the dream world, but the overall world, plots, schemes, DCs, etc...can be revisited for sure. It may take some practice to be able to create the world scenarios in the first place. Remember, even if something is wrong and you want to change it, you can fix it.

I'm pretty sure than you can revisit anything you can remember. If you can remember a setting/cast of characters/time/anything else, it's more than possible to go back to it. Like Yoshi said, there will be a few changes - these are probably just your subconcious filling up the gaps in your memory. To boost your odds of getting back to the world you'd like to create, make sure to keep a dream journal and note down EVERY SINGLE DETAIL you can remember from every dream. When you revisit the dream, add more details to do with your world. Eventually you'll have more than enough to accurately recreate an entire dreamscape.

+1 For what's been said so far. It's a matter of expectation. It might seem very challenging if you're constantly trying to control each individual aspect of it, but if you just expect the general dream universe to be a certain way, constant, then it certainly is possible.

My personal obstacle is truly being able to accept that expectations have great influence within a lucid dream. Usually, I expect in the back of my mind that something will go a way I don't want it to go- doubt. Paralysis in a lucid dream for example (for me it's after a WILD). I doubt my capabilities of movement. But, if I change my expectations and remove doubt, my dream world can be what I want it to be.
