Last night, after months of practice, I had my first prolonged lucid dream. Up until this point, I had only become lucid long enough to watch my dream fall apart around me as I awoke.

But last night, I managed to keep my excitement minimal and I stayed in the dream. The first thing I did, as a test so to speak, was try to fly since I had read previously how this can be attained and that it's often something people want to do in lucid dreams.

So as I had learned, I began to jump up and down, and with each jump I progressively got higher until I was maybe 50-100 feet in the air and I simply hovered. It was exhilarating, but I quickly realized something: now that I was hovering in the air, I didn't know how to move.

I tried swimming motions, I tried a superman-esque pose, but I simply continued to hover in the air. I had to resort to "drifting" to a ledge that was maybe five feet away instead of simply flying wherever I wanted to go and from there proceeded to go about my dream on foot.

From those who have done it and know, how do I actually fly? How do I go about moving myself once I am in the air?
