      Pain in a Dream

Hi guys, according to my recollection I have died 3 times in my dreams. The first time I was shot several times in my chest and face but didn't feel a thing and just woke up. the second time I was shot again in my chest while falling out of a 3 story building onto some train tracks. The pain was as if I had in fact been shot and this weird burning sensation radiated through my chest. The scene went black as if I had actually died and then after a couple of minutes I came back to life like I had been holding my breath and was finally able to breathe. The last time, I was in a car crash. A head on collision to be exact and I went head first through the windshield and shards of glass was sticking out of my chest and that same sort of pain I had felt before in my second death gripped me. Now, they say that since it's just a dream, you're not suppose to feel anything, right? So now I'm kinda scared that something may be wrong with me. Before I call up my doctor, I was wondering if anybody has any insight on this situation?

The brain is a mysterious thing. Make sure you do some major RC because it may be the fact that you believe this is real. Are you waking up with this pain?

These were just normal, non-lucid dreams and I never woke up with this pain or experienced it in waking life. Maybe my Mind was just playing tricks on me seeing that I did think it was real.

Ok if theis weren't lucid then it could be you think they're real. Next time you feel this tell your self i am dreaming and will wake up. But if it continues go see a doctor.

Feeling pain in a dream is in no way abnormal. Almost everyone who pays attention to their dreams feels pain at some point (sometimes even extreme). It is nothing to worry about. If it distresses you and you want it to stop, it really is just a matter of dream control.

Now, they say that since it's just a dream, you're not suppose to feel anything, right?
Totally false. This kind of statement is probably the result of people who never really pay attention to their dreams. Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but feeling pain in a dream is not abnormal at all.

Basically it hurts because you think it should hurt.

I have felt pain in dreams lots of times.
Your brain knows what pain feels like, so when something happens in a dream that should be painful, your brain just reproduces the feeling.
Pain just exists in the brain anyway.
      It's all in your head.

I see. It all makes sense. So in actuality, I dreamt up this pain because that's how I thought, well my brain thought it's suppose to feel. Thanks for clearing things up for me everyone, I guess I can now R.I.P.
