      Semi-successful WILD for first timer?

Keep in mind I have never had a lucid dream yet.

So this afternoon I attempted to do a WILD. I let myself daydream and my mind wander off into random thoughts so that I wouldn't be TOO focused. In the back of my head though I was counting my breath but I eventually lost count, and decided oh well whatever.

I had several short dreams including a false awakening, and I think I got into SP also. My SP experience was numbness of my hands and legs, and very violent vibrations of me swinging side to side. In other words, it felt like my real body was still and my dream body, i guess (i dont know how to explain it) was swinging side to side very hard, and it felt like my head was spinning. Was this SP? no HI or hallucinations though.

I'm proud of myself for my FA though! I actually did my first reality check ever in one of my dreams. I woke up in bed in my dream, first thing I did was plug my nose and tried to breath. And it worked! but then, I guess it was very startling because I suddenly felt my waking body breathe in as well, and I woke up (most likely because when I plug my nose to breathe, I try to breathe in really hard lol, and I felt the magnitude of my inhale). I guess my mind was thinking "Wait, I'm breathing? Hold on a second here.. that's my real body breathing".

I've never been in a lucid dream before so I guess that is why I had failed a WILD. Is there anyone here who has had there first lucid doing a WILD?

Well I was semi lucid last night when I did a DEILD but that's about the only thing I could get to work, if you haven't had one yet like me then stick to DILD or DEILD they seem too simple but they work wonders. I'm seeing a lot of improvement myself lately especially with dream recall. I think it's less stressful too you don't have to worry about it just let it happen when it feels like it and take it to an advanced level after you have a few the easy way.

      Thanks for the reply

But to me DEILD and DILD seems a lot harder for me because my concious is already gone lol. I know I should be practicing ADA and RC every now and then, but my life is pretty busy atm with school and the ending of the semester

Dild works off of memory. You have to remember to R.C... Wild works off of awareness. You have to be aware you are falling asleep and keep your mind alert (to some extent) meditation helps wilds alot.

It sounds like you almost did a wild. Congrats on the vibrations and the F.A. Next time you get vibrations and they end with no dream entry. Check to see if your already dreaming. You may have had an INRALD (im not really awake lucid dream)

      good luck,

It sounds to me like a bit of sleep paralysis AND a bit of lucid dream state, even if it wasn't a full dream, AND hypnogogic hallucinations .
They are not all visual or auditory.
They can many times be mental. Even something as small as a silly thought that made no sense.
"Where did I put that sombrero? Sombreros sure are green. ...Wait. What?"
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.
