This is a brilliant idea. I am not an artist as such, but since starting to learn lucid dreaming, I've realized I need to see more things (and preferably not just my computer keyboard over and over), so, for instance, I subscribed to Artforum, just so I will always have something arriving in the mailbox every month with pictures/things in it I've never seen before. I've also resolved to get to the modern art museum at least once a month. Thank you for putting art right here for us!

My pleasure! It really helps me as well and I hope it will inspire many people to either lucid dream or create art. I really like the idea of subscribing to Artforum btw and receiving art in your inbox...that is nice.

I so agree, I am looking forward to seeing an artist each week! Nice to see visuals!
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Rob Gonsalves is actually one of my all-time favorite artists!

"The Performer" reminds me of dream I had where I was flying and the crowds of people on the ground transformed into buildings and giant neon signs like in NYC. They were still sorta pullsating and changing like a crowd of people while I was in the air.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

That is really neat! I would love to own a large print of some of these, I am so very impressed with the way he manages to catch these surreal moments in waking life and dreams. So very gifted.

Amazing stuff! I rarely find art that's up my alley, but this guy really gets me inspired. Thanks for sharing, and great idea Nina!

A few suggestions, either for a future week or just to enjoy for the moment:

      Mati Klarwein - http://www.matiklarweinart.com
Best known as the artist who did the album artwork for Santana's Abraxas and Miles Davis' Bitches Brew. Two great albums, two great paintings. I really love the stuff under Visionary and Landscape.

      Vitaly S Alexius - http://svitart.n-tek.ca/home.php
I met this guy working on mods for an old computer game. He's a phenomenally talented individual. Most of his work he finishes in less than a day, the stuff he has up there now is a fraction of his overall output.

Thank you! Those are both some amazing artists. I especially love Vitaly S Alexius, his digital stuff is just gorgeous.

Awsome work, I save every awe inspiring drawing I come across on the web and saved a couple of those up there as well
Maybe I should post some things I've found as well, although they're less surrealistic... Just otherwordly evironmental concept art mostly

I'm a huge fan of Gonsalves,
MC Escher and Salvador Dali would also definitely be dream inspiring artists.

Those pictures from Gonsalves are actually pretty cool. I love how smoothly the transition is between the normal, and the surrealism of the photos.

Incredible art - thanks for sharing and doing all the hard work.
I'd like to get more into art - but don't know where to start - this seems like a good way to be introduced to some great artists. Thanks1

This makes me wanna go out and take some pictures. But it's cold so I probably won't.

Sora I love the colors in that photograph, the blues/turquoise are my favorite.

Very nice stuff, I love how the background colors just all seem to blend into each other. Very surreal. Don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.
