Weird or Unique? Choose one and state why.@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Ok, so i am 16 years old. I have a twin, and we are fraternal. One day when it was night we went to bed at the same time. I had a dream where he was in it. The next morning when I woke up my brother came into my room a minute after with a strange look on his face. I could tell why he that look. He told me that he was in my dream. Then, to test if we were really inside each other's dream we both said what happened in the dream in chronological order. Turns out, we met each other in our dream. Is this weird or unique? We also have excellent dream recall.

Must something be either weird or unique? I would consider your story to be neither (If I had to choose I would say weird). Numerous people report having these "shared dreams", and you can find a lot of opinions and information on them in the beyond dreaming section of this forum.

I have not had any personal experience with shared dreaming, and therefore do not currently believe that it occurs, although I would never say it is impossible nor ridicule people for believing in it. Think about how many people access dreaming forums every day. I think that the proportion of people who report shared dreaming experiences can be explained almost entirely by a combination of probability and shared information. By this I mean that people, especially those in close contact with each-other, are exposed to similar occurrences, news articles, and experiences each day. While this effect might only cause dreams to be similar in 1% or less of cases, there are enough people with access to the internet to make even the most unlikely events occur numerous times.

By the way, what are all of the @s for?

Bradleys, you are on to something new here! People attempted to conduct shared dreaming experiments for ages, but to my knowledge without much luck. And here you are, having such experience. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, can you list your shared dream experience? what did you do, in which order?

From my own experiences and from people I've met IRL and on this forum...it seems that siblings have a natural connection and proclivity for sharing dreams. Among other strange phenom.

I've shared dreams with my sister a few times, and she's not even a lucid dreamer. But our experiences get even weirder than just dream sharing. For instance, we've both separately had the exact same dream...to the point where dismissing it as coincidence would be crazier than accepting that it as something that can't be explained. Then there was the time when my sister sent me an email late at night, and I received it and read it in my sleep. The next morning my sister asked me if I got her email. I kinda laughed and said, yeah I got it in my sleep. She kinda made a "har har" remark...and then...she realized that it wasn't in her sent folder and said that it must not have sent. Again, I told her that I got it, and I told her what was in the email. She says, oh, I guess it did send, that's weird. Yeah, I said, but what's weirder is that I haven't been near my computer since yesterday. She kinda laughs uneasily, not knowing if I'm serious or not. It kinda freaked us both out. The weirdest part for me was that in the dream...I just knew...that I was seeing or reading a real form of communication from my sister. You can tell when something like that happens. It's like telepathy. When you have a telepathic moment with someone, your brain will sort of "bleep out" for a split second when they totally sync up...and it's like...wow...what the hell was that!?? Because it's something so bizarre you just have to experience it for yourself to even believe it. I also have a lot of spontaneous remote viewing episodes regarding my sister and where she is and what she's going. I used to call her and describe her surroundings to her, and it would freak her out...but she's ok with it, and just finds it all really fascinating. Oh and her dog likes to wake me up in the middle of the night to let me know that he is getting very worried because his mommy has not come home yet. So I text my sister to go home because Louie misses his mommy. And she's like..."How did you know I was still out!!??? Weirdo!" lol. Sorry I sorta hijacked this thread, I just felt like talking about cool sibling synchronicity, they're the best.

I would say that is unique that both you were aware of each other in the astral dreamscape. Alot of people believe that dreams are just localized to your brain but your experience proves that the dreamscape is a real place that exist independent of our own minds. If it doesn't then we are saying that somehow your brother got into your physical brain and was able to share your dream with u. Which one sounds suspect. More documented reports of shared dreaming will be a huge step forward in human being evolution especially in western minds. imho. namaste.
