      those "feeling" dreams

have you ever had those dreams where you're not anywhere, and there isn't anything going on, like you can't see anything, but you can feel things? When i get sick, (fever, vomiting etc) i have this really weird dream. Here is how i can best explain it:

It feel like i am water. I am lukewarm water sitting in a tub and there isn't a single ripple on my surface. the water does move at all. it is as calm as possible. And i love it this way, i love it when there is nothing disrupting the water. But then slowly, ever so slowly, a ripple will appear, one at a time, really slowly. And this kind of irrates me, but i can handle it. And then more ripples come, and the more they come, the faster and more rapid they spread. you know how a ripple can only grow so fast, well after a while they grow very very fast. and soon they are so choppy and rapid that it turns into splashing and i HATE this. It drives me nuts and it won't stop!

And if you've ever seen a Freddy Crueger movie, there is one where he turns up this kid's hearing power, and you can just hear a faint "ping" and then Freddy drops a needle and it's like the most disrupting and painful sound in the world, that's how i feel in this dream.

What do you think it means?

Oh, man! those can be annoying! Especially those ones where you feel like you are in some sort of dark closet.
It is like, you are trying to move, but it is such a small space, & you cannot talk. I know that it is only a Dream. I don't get scared....more like impatient & anxious to get out. If you do get out, sometimes you end up in a Sci-fi (this was in the 1st Sci-fi I ever had).
      VERY ANNOYING!

      Hi Katrina,

Your dream reminded me of the idea of being present. When you're living fully in the now and not thinking of the past or future, when your mind is still and calm, you are like the water in the tub you describe. It's a wonderful state to be in.

Then you get little ripples of, "What's for lunch?" "My butt itches." "OMG that girl's hair is so nasty." "I think that person hates me! AGGH!" and then you become a sea of choppy waves and it's no longer pleasant.

If that's the case with you, perhaps your dream is trying to remind you to let the ripples die down instead of letting them become ... well, that.

Oh the same thing happens to me when I am sick.

But for me, I could see and feel these long pipe things. They were all fat and smooth and soft, but then ever so gradually, they would become hard and angular, with sharp metallic edges and rusty needled tips. And the color would change from a soft white to this burnt aubergine color. Very disturbing.

My mom would have one, equally disturbing, where these little thin threadlike lines would gradually move closer and closer together, until they were so close they resembled fabric.

Don't know what it means. Just our feverish brains trying to work shit out while our bodies fight illness I guess.

I've had dreams about "kissing" (read my journal if you're that interested)

anyway, i also have another kind of dream like that, well two of them, here they are:

      Dream #1
Everything is white. And the white represents a skating rink. I like it when the ice is clear, and there are no imprints from any skaters. (you know when people skate on the ice it makes those little lines) but then, scribbles start to come, and i hate it. It' s like a headache. And more and more scribbles come until they finally fill up the entire screen. then i force it to be clean agian, but the scribbles keep coming back.

      Dream #2
this one is a little more hard to explain. but the feeling is this:
I am on one side of a room, and there are all of these shapes and objects on the other side. And one by one, these objects start to invade my side of the room. First there are all of the really big objects, they are big, but they weigh nothing. And it goes on down the line. Near the end, when all of the objects are on my side, and i can barely hold any more objects, this is what i feel: I know that the objects must be all out soon, because my side can barely hold anymore. And i'm starting to get annoyed. And i feel that when all of the shapes and objects are on my side, it'll be the end and i'll finally get to wake up. I just have to hang in there. But then when i think the objects are all on my side, these little objects come out of the shadows on the other side of the room, and they are pretty small, but really really heavy, and they keep coming on my side. And i never know when it's going to stop. The more room i loose on my side, the more smaller these other shapes get, and they smaller they get, the more heavier they get. Until my floor just can't hold them anymore, and now it's dangerous. I don't remember what happens after that, but i think i die.

i don't get it. past present future? they're just "feeling" dreams. I get em when i'm sick. I don't practice it. I think that's just how you interpreted it....the past present future thing.
