      The term Spirit Guide

I am curious about when/how the forum started using "Spirit Guides" as a term for the "people" we see in our dreams, because within Witchcrafting "spirit guides" is used instead of demons.

The "people" in dreams are called DCs (Dream Characters) spirit guides are something that belongs in the beyond dreaming section of the forum. They refer to characters that behave differently to the usual, absent-minded DC, or recurring characters that look the same or have some kind of spiritual signature that is different/special. Some think they hold secrets to themselves (the dreamer) or secrets to lucid dreaming, the astral plane, or simply how to control powers.

This is not witchcrafting, I highly doubt the two terms are the same.

Keep in mind however that Spirit guides or Dream guides are notoriously hard to meet. People think they either don't want to be found until the right time, or they can't be met until you are ready. They are supposed to be normal as far as dreams go, but when you see them you will know it's your dream guide. Thats what people say.

DGs and SGs are quite important apparently. I would like to meet mine, theories like this are not simply just made up and then suddenly everyone believes it. It may just be dreaming, but people on here do often treat this like a science.

I believe that people use meditation, dreaming, drugs, ect. to try and meet there spirit guide, usually to find purpose or enlightenment. I recently read a book (fiction based of of events) about a girl who would meditate to reach her spirit guide, and eventually the demon that was her unsuspecting spirit guide possesed her. I think this is just a cover up name for satan to reach those that are trying to find artificial or counterfeit paths to "enlightnenment."

On the other hand, a DG or dream guide is the name given to any type of unusual dream character that seems more intelligent, reoccures, or teaches you how to do different things in a dream.
