      Is it possible..

..to change your RL character trough lucid dreaming?

I've red an experience of someone who had a self-awareness dream, which changed his behavior towards his employees. After that dream, he had a way better relation to them. (Yea it's from Paul Tholey's book)

This may be only a minor change in his character, but how much change is possible through lucid dreaming?

      What do you think?

Experiences from real life can change your personality. And experiences in dreams can do the same thing.

I don't have any specific examples to give you. Although I have read about people who have conquered their fears in dreams.

Well if you're willing to change, then it's possible. Lucid dreaming is a great tool because you can indirectly access your subconscious and figure out a lot about yourself. You still have to put in the effort to makes the changes though, LDs don't work like some kind of self-hypnosis therapy to change behavior.

You can change your real life character at any point in your life, lucid dreaming is just an experience which allows you to access parts of your mind that you normally can't. For example, creating a clone of yourself and then asking it questions could yield some pretty cool results. Same with talking to a dream guide.

All experiences whether awake or dreaming, are real. Dreaming by its nature will cause you to grow as a person, and to change your ways of thinking so long as you stick with it and are disciplined. There are many changes you could go through personally as a result of experiences in dreaming or realizations while dreaming.

I have to agree with AL3ZAY. Whether it was a dream, a drug trip, or an event in the physical world, an experience is an experience. And we are little more than the result of our experiences.

I think so. Sometimes lucid experience's feel so real they have to change your perspective a little bit.

If you have a really realistic dream about dying you will probably have a better respect for life after the dream.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Yes, you can change who you are through lucid dreaming. A famous person named Anonymous once said, "Life isn't about finding yourself; it's about creating yourself." You can be whoever you want, and you're not genetically restricted or limited to any type of personality. You can have whatever personality you'd like, and you develop it gradually over time. Each experience you have shapes you and gives you an opportunity to grow. The choice of which direction is yours.

All of that applies to waking life, but dreams offer more experiences. It's really no different from being awake in terms of character development - you can work on how you act in certain situations. By being lucid, however, you can create any scenario you want. You can make ways to test your personality and how you respond to certain events; if you don't like who you are, you can change it. The great thing about lucid dreaming is that you can redo a situation and act differently. This can develop your character, as you're literally learning from past mistakes and consciously choosing a new course of action. You could use LDing as practice to try out new yous.

I've definitely become much more relaxed, laid-back, and introspective since I've started LDing. Probably of more practical concern is that I can pull from my experiences flying to help lessen my anxiety when dealing with heights and I'm a lot more confident about doing things around people.

On the flip side, I've noticed a big spike in my desire for violence IWL, something I didn't quite have before.

I think it can certainly help change your personality but not directly change it. In a dream you can be shown things about your inner self that you would otherwise overlook or ignore, then use that "new" information to better yourself.
