      Are these lucid dreams??

      I have been having some sorts of dreams for a few years now, so i decided i would like to know what kind they are.. I am not sure if they are lucid or not.

      One of the dreams i have is.. where i am lying in bed and can see everything around me, it seems like i am not sleeping but i always know i am.
      I could try and walk away in these dreams or do something, like put a t-shirt on or something, but when i wake i am just as i was..
      Like last night for example. .I was in bed with my b/f and i was sleeping, i went into one of these dreams, and i could see him and me, and everything else. I was lying down, and i was looking around me.. I saw a black thing on my leg, like i thought it was a spider at first, i really wanted to wake myself up to see if it was; because i'm scared of them; but i couldnt. These dreams i am in for a while. When i woke up i never thought anything about (the spider) lol .. but later on i noticed a thread lose and then i realised this must have been the thing i saw in my dream.. I didnt even know it was there.. It was only in my dream i saw it, thinking it was a spider or something, and when i wake there is something there.. which i didnt notice before the dream.. lol

      There is also another kind i have.. which i dont know as much..
      But one time i was lying in bed and i can see myself, like the above dream, but then i kind of think to myself, what i would want to dream of, and sometimes i can.. Its like i can control them..If i thought that i wanted to dream about going on holiday i could..

      Sometimes also i be in a dream, and am scared of something, then i think, this is a dream, no need to be scared.. and then i am not..

      Can anyone tell me what each of these dreams are.. ?

      In that case it's definitely a lucid dream. When you're trying to figure out if you had an LD or not, just try to remember whether you knew you was dreaming or not. Lucid dreaming is simply being aware of the fact that you're dreaming while you're dreaming. You can have LDs where you have no control, but, on the other hand, you can have dreams where you have a lot of control but don't realize that it's a dream (therefore not a lucid dream).
      Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

      It was good knowing that..
      I was reading a few days back on the main page that when you are in lucid dreaming your heart beats much faster..
      In fact when i had a lucid dream on tuesday night, i knew i was dreaming, and i sort of remembered what it said, and i did notice it does beat faster.. It seems i have lucid dreams quite a bit, but i always seem to be in the bedroom in most of them, and i am always aware whats around me..
