The Jaunt and lucid dreaming blackness

Yesterday I read Stepehn King's short story The Jaunt and I could relate to it from several lucid dream experiences that felt really long and horrible. One of them being a never ending cycle of short uncontrolled scary dream repeating themselves more then I could keep track of and another usual occurence lucid dreaming of blackness. In the jaunt jaunting awake makes you stuck with your own thoughts for melenia or even billions of years of time as it seems. That gave me a scary thought. I sometimes wonder what would happen if I was stuck in lucid limbo for what I thought was a really long time. It makes me think that I would go crazy and want to die. Could lucid limbo and Stephen King's the jaunt be compared?

The way you described it made it seem similar to getting stuck in your subconsciousness in "Inception".
