Alcohol or drugs really affect lucid dreaming negatively. If you are using alcohol or drugs often it may be even impossible to achieve lucid dreams. Better drop the weed mate. |

I have been a marijuana smoker for a while now. I just recently discovered lucid dreaming. When i started trying to lucid dream, I had'nt smoked in a while but when I started running back into the weed I Found it hard to actually achieve a lucid dream. Disreguarding my dilema here is there anything that connects or disconnects marijuana from lucid dreaming? Is it something i should try to stay away from while experimenting with this new concept? |

Marijuana is known to suppress REM which is where your LDs happen. The closer you smoke to bed, the more trouble you will have dreaming and recalling your dreams. It also survives in your body for a while, so the longer you don't smoke for, the better you should get with the dreaming. I've found this personally to hold very true, but I know that some others say that there is no effect on them. Don't smoke one day and you should notice the different that night, don't smoke the next day and you should definitely notice the difference the night after. |

I am not qualified to say that if it makes it harder or not to actual lucid dream. I think remembering it while high would be extremely difficult. from experience with both. Once I got that hang of lucid dreaming, being high cant compare too it. I have smoked a month straight everyday, but find lucid dreaming to be more enjoyable, it is its own sort of high i guess. |

When we are dreaming alone it is only a dream. When we are dreaming with others, it is the beginning of reality. ~Dom Helder Camara
I was straight-edge till I was 21 (slow starter here lol), all I've found is that weed makes you 'sleepy' (fuzzy) when dreaming a bit like the chilled out effect in reality. I did notice though that there was a big improvement in the 'detail' in my dreams (depth of color, back-ground noise and so on) after messing around with the 'Sgt Pepper' end of the drugs scale. I'm not going to outright say "Drugs are good" for improving certain aspect of dreaming as I can only judge by my own experience. I've been straight for 5 years now, got bored with getting high. |

(Current) DREAM GOALS:
1.Reach the Underverse as mentioned in the film 'The chronicals of Riddick' and gain 'soul rip' ability.
2.Build a new and improved 'Lair of infinate evil' on the surface of the sun.
3.Catch up with Satan and see if he has any work going for me

SONIC SCREWDRIVER = "I'm too lazy to use logic and reason on this problem..."~~
I have found being high will enhance the 'picture' quality around once I noticed it. In a lucid dream, I see kind of the same thing. More vibrant colors, and sharper textures. |

It was like going from normal TV to HD, not allowed to say openly that it was "Worth it", but not going to say I wasn't pleased with the improved dream detail as a side effect of my wilder years. Seen a few peeps over-cook themselves and managed to avoid it (mostly |

Considering there are stoners here on DV who have LD's every night, it doesn't seem to prevent lucid dreaming. But, everyone is different! Do some experimenting. |
