So I was playing one of the Assassins Creed games the other day and it got me thinking about this game in context of lucid dreaming.
I will give a quick overview of the games for those who haven't played.
There has been a machine invented that lets a person view and relive, through a dream state, the memories of a direct ancestor. The main character is put into this machine, throughout the game series, to try and find these ancient relics. He has to relive two of his ancestors lives to find what he is looking for. He is in a constant sleep state while in the machine, and when he is taken out of the machine he knows it was a dream. However, he has to go through the dream according to his ancestors live and memories, so there is very little he can control within the dream.
Here's the question I'm going to put out there...
Even though sleep is intentionally brought...he does know he is in a dream, so technically he is lucid. However, he can't change the events or control the dream. My first question is...Is this lucid? what is everyone's opinion on that...
My second question is just a fun one...If this machine was ever invented, would you like to use it? Do you think it would make the LD experience, for you personally, better or worse?
