      I wonder if...

you can have a dream where you're lucid, and THINK you are controlling the dream when in "reality" you are actually still following the whims of your subconscious mind, which is telling you, "you are controlling this dream!" when you're actually not doing anything you planned on doing, or want to do, but still feel like you are in control.

Have you ever had that experience? Where you dreamed about controlling a lucid dream?

I guess that's possible, but I think if I was dreaming about controlling a dream I would become lucid anyway.
Anyway, the feeling between a dream and having a lucid dream is completely different for me, sometimes I feel my body (real) getting pinned down when I become lucid.

Yes. I had a few of those. And I can tell you that its a bit frustrating in the morning.
When you were so close to being lucid, but still so far away from it.

But again, that was in the period when I was not writing my dreams down, when I was not doing RCs everyday, basically not doing anything to achieve LD.
So I guess if it were to happen now, I'd be able to turn it into a real lucid dream (I hope )

I normally have the opposite experience. I feel like I am struggling against the dream. Even when my control succeeds, it does not happen in the way I consciously intended.
