This keeps happenning to me whenever I sleep on my back for some reason, and it always ends up being a bad experience (a nightmare). I'll wake up in the middle of the night and can't move. Sometimes, I see things, but more than anything I get this terrible feeling. So now I never sleep on my back. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas to help me overcome my fear. |

Just as Aquainina mentioned, sleep paralysis is very normal. There is not a single human on the face of this planet who eludes SP. The only difference between you and the majority is that you wake out of REM sleep during this phase of SP. most people sleep fully through REM cycles and wake during Non-Rem periods (the periods where your body truely rest and you are not dreaming). But if you are in acknowledgement of Sleep Paralysis then Im about 99% sure that you've had a Lucid Dream or at least a semi-lucid scenerio where you may have awakened yourself from a dream. There is nothing to be afraid of when it comes down to SP there are several ways you can use this to your advantage. Just check out the threads for Sleep Paralysis as Aquainina mentioned. Good luck! |

the whole nightmaire thing is totally natural, Its caused my your eyes being open while your mind is dreaming. This is the reason that alot of people say that theyve been abducted by aliens, they wake to see that they cant move there body and theres beings all around their bed, then they see the hands go over them and fall into a dream state (possibly lucid) and the aliens take them into their "ship". Its called sleep hallucinations or something like that. |

That helps a lot. I guess it is natural. That's funny, up there. One time this happened to me, I tried to keep my eyes closed 'cause I felt something by the side of my bed. I didn't know what it was and I didn't want to find out. Then after a little while, I heard (or thought I heard) a growl and then I woke up. It was weird. Anyway, that was one of the exps. that I had. Hey, thanx again for everyone who responded to my concern. |

I get SP at least a couple times a week. Often I have pain along with it though, which is weird. Last night I had SP and I knew what was going on, and I looked and on one of my blankets was a woman's face looking at me and moving. I wasn't scared, probably because I hadn't quite awoken the part of my brain that accesses fear. I just found it interesting. Anyway, I closed my eyes to go into a lucid dream, and I started to see sparkes and stuff, but then my chest hurt BADLY, and I knew I had to wake up because of the pain, so I did. |

Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.
