      Smile Lucid Dreaming Musicians Discussion

      Hey guys,

As a musician, ever since I first heard about lucid dreaming, the main thing that's motivated me to try it is the combination of writing music and lucid dreams. As many of you have probably heard about, an incredible musician called Aphex Twin wrote a significant chunk of one of his albums inspired by lucid dreams. It's never been clarified whether the songs were heard in his LD's or if they're simply inspired, but either way I think it's a very interesting topic. An example of one of these songs can be found here. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had ever tried this combination? Any ideas?

      Cheers,

      Calum

      I call it Dream-Writing.
I have tried to write music in my LDs. Although when i woke up, i could only remember the melody. The words, which in the dream i understood and thought all worked well together, were basically in a different language when i woke up! I could not understand the words i had said. It was weird.
In your dreams you can create anything! Try the "Dream workshop" idea by Stephen LaBerge where you manifest a workshop with all the tools you need for anything.

I've gotten all my best melodies from lucid dreaming. I can simultaneously come up with new melodies and lyrics as I'm singing in a lucid. The only real hard part is remembering enough of it after I wake up! I usually record myself on my phone right away so I don't lose the melody. But yeah, being in a dream for whatever reason just makes it so much easier to be creative.

I'm not a musician at all, but I've created quite a few funky mashups in my dreams using completely unrelated songs which still combine into these brilliant remixes without ever having touched music editing software. I've made up soul and jazz songs within the confines of the mind without any experience or knowledge of basic rhythm or melody. I can't even begin to imagine the full potential of the lucid musician.

Very interesting! You don't happen to have any samples of these melodies do you?

Hmmm, I'm not sure I have any on my laptop at the moment, if not, I'll record something and post it here at some point.
