Hello! Lucid dreaming through out my life, increased recently, discussion/opionions welcome :)

      Hi Guys,
I've never posted about any lucid dreams I've had before, but last night I had perhaps my most vivid, controllable and longest lucid dream, it's gotten me quite interested and here I am to post

I have had lucid dreams here and there since I was a kid, the earliest I remember is when I was 12, I dreamt I was in class and did something really bad and the teacher was giving out to me, I couldn't believe I had done something so stupid when all of a sudden I relised it was Saturday , of course then I said I must be dreaming, felt a huge sense of relief and woke up shortly afterwards.

I can also remember at two points in my child hood having what I would call a blank slate dream, a dream in which I was standing in darkness with nothing else, I often fantasized about having such a dream where I could do/make anything. But, and this is weird, both times I was "too tired" to do anything and just felt like sleeping, so perhaps I was half awake (and no I wasn't standing in the middle of my room in the dark ), so to my annoyance I did nothing!

Another strange dream thing I remember as a kid was when I didn't like a dream I would put my hands to my eyelids and wake up, once I rememember I did this and had all the characters from my dream standing on my pillow calling me back, I'd lay down, close my eyes and be back in the dream!

So enough of my childhood, in my late teens I first heard of lucid dreams, I thought about them and often did the "is this a dream" thinking pattern and would have lucid dreams, but they freaked me out, being conscious in an environment I felt anything could happen, so I used to wake up, and I stopped thinking about lucid dreams and stoppend having them, bar the rare one here and there.

Recently, actually since seeing Inception (I know ye're prob fed up of hearing that...) , I have been thinking about dreams again. I have in the last week or two started to have quite a few lucid dreams, and now(I'm mid twentys) they don't freak me out anymore, I embrace them and try to have them.

But it's weird, I seem to keep "waking up", but i don't actually wake I just think I do in the dream. And I've had a few dreams in dreams, perhaps a side product of the film. The strangest was I dreamt I was Cob(the main guy from Inception) and I became lucid, AS him, so I was aware I was dreaming but I was in the character of Cob trying achieve his goals etc...

Night before last I realised I was dreaming, "woke" myself up, realised I was still dreaming by looking at the bedside clock twice and seeing it being different and woke up again, nope still asleep, I repeated this process 6-7 times until eventually I didn't even want to look at the clock because I knew I probably wasn't awake, of course I finally woke after about 7 attempts I had no reason why I wanted to wake, I just did!

Then last night, I was in a bar for my birthday, everyone buying drinks for me, I was lashing them back, then all of a sudden I wake in my bed. I was like wtf just happened, why aren't I hungover, why don't I remember anything after x drink, if I was drunk enough to have such an extreme blackout I should feel like s**t now! So due to having 0 memory and no hangover I realised I was dreaming!
Next thing I remember is I was in my university, first thing I remember conciously doing is I needed to pee but I knew I was dreaming so I just went by the uni gates (I was also thinking will I pee in my bed now...I didn't though ).
As I walked through campus things were weird, the campus was like augmented reality(for anyone who doesn't know augmented reality is a new tech where you can use say a smart phone camera to point at a place/building, it will overlay info about the place on the pic, for example photos/videos ppl have uploaded about that place), there were "youtube videos" overlayed everywhere, but for some reason I accepted this as a consequence of me realising I was dreaming, so perhaps at this point I wasn't as lucid?
Then I got to the classrooms, I went into one with my girlfriend and selected a female student to eh "hang out" but she didn't want to hang out as she had no idea who we were, but I was able to manipulate her to feel a certain way and then she wanted to come along for the fun! Shortly after I thought I woke again, I had a string feeling it was a dream, checked several clocks/times and they all read the same and I deduced I was awake, girlfriend started giving out for hanging out with that girl and that's the last I remember. Of course I was actually still dreaming, despite the clocks telling me otherwise! I also think in the dream I saw my gf as the actual person, and not as a figure of my dream, does this mean I was not fully lucid in it?
Oh last bit, I remember rippling a bridge just to see of I could when I knew I was dreaming I could, but stopped becos thought if I tried to manipulate the dream too much I'd wake up!

It was an interesting enough dream to make me post here!

Ok so that's my life of lucid dreams, sorry it's so long but hopefully someone will read and comment Thanks

      Welcome to DV
You should feel lucky to be a naturals, I can't even remember my dreams yet.
Also try reading some tutorials to improve your experience with lucid dreams (LDs). The experience where you wake up into another dream call False Awakening (FA), well people often do a reality check (RC) like pinching nose to see if they are in a dream or not but it seems you can just look around to aware it is a dream. With good practice and control you could do anything in your dream and get one whenever you want!

Hi Chebuoi! I will certainly start to read more and practice, I'm looking forward to it

I wouldn't really say I look around and know it's a dream, it's usually some inconsistency I pick up on. I do a RC I heard about a long time ago, looking at a clock, looking away and looking at the clock again, supposedly if you're dreaming the times should be completely different! Usually what happens is the 2nd time I look the time is all gobbldygook, but in my dream last nite the clock check failed me and I somehow didn't realsied waking up in the middle of university outside a classroom was a little different from waking up in my bed! I must try the nose block next time!

I've read the entire first post.

      Welcome.

Try others RCs, like looking at your hands, nose pinch, memory check (do you remember how you get there?), etc.
