      Every time I LD ...

All of my LDs are WILDs. The past 10 or so LDs I can't speak in my dream. When I try to talk my throat is strained and no noise comes out and is very painful. Thoughts on why this has maybe started to happen to me? I have no idea

      Nice avatar haha

You know I honestly do not know why this would happen to you. But next time you get lucid, just take a few moments to calm down and just maybe remember some times where you have spoken in real life. Remember how it feels like and what your voice sounds like. Once you have a clear memory of this, try speaking. It should help you speak regularly. Plus having limited abilities in dreams is a normal thing. You have probably had experiences like these in nightmares.

      Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply I'll take your advice. In my LDs, I know I have spoken before, but now when I open my mouth and try and make a sound it only strains my throat. Hmmm maybe it is because I've been kinda sick waking up with a runny nose and sore throat lately.. Very strange..

      Hi there my friend,

This is kinda like a common case among LDers(this happens to me sometimes). First of all, try to increase your dream's clarity/quality. It might be your dream's quality that hinders you to speak. I suggest you read this Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial. Secondly, have confidence in yourself. Believe that you can speak and shout among the mountains. Hope this helps

you'll grow out of it. maybe it represents not being able to speak your mind?

I think it's because you're trying to speak from your sleeping body, not the actual dreaming body.
You can't speak because your sleeping body is, well, paralized. Try to "think" about talking instead of trying to talk directly.
