      Hi all,
I just thought I'd share my experience from last night. I stumbled upon this site many years ago and after trying most of the techniques i never managed to induce a lucid dream (although I've had them randomly in the past). Anyway last night i had one completely out of the blue so to anyone who hasn't had one yet, don't give up. Anyway i tried some of the techniques to stay lucid and they work, spinning kept me in the dream while holding my nose and still being able to breath through it (which was amazing) reassured me i was dreaming. I even managed to pull my grandparent who's been dead for over 10 years into my dream, although it was strange i want to hug him and he pushed me away and just shook my hand, i suppose he was like that in real life though. It was a very cool experience but as for changing settings, i couldn't do it, and i tried flying, but couldn't do that either. I also tried to walk through a window but it was like it was made out of thin plastic and wouldn't let me through. Fingers crossed i have another dream like it soon because it's like having your own personal playground all in your head.

      Pleasant dreams everyone.

Hello, congratulations on your first LD.

You said about the window that don't let you go through it, it was probably because you had some expectation (even subconciously) that you couldnt go through that window by some odd reason.
Just keep your dreams stablized and practice some control.

Thanks for replying, i agree i think that even though i understood it was a dream i still felt restricted by what i know to be true in the real world, probably why i couldn't fly also. I forgot to mention something else i tried, i tried reading as I've heard that words scroll if you try to read something in a lucid dream. I pulled my mobile phone out of my pocket to try this and the results were fascinating, although i could read it at first i found the letters started scrolling after i remembered this fact, so I'm not convinced i can't read something in my lucid dreams but I'm wondering if my knowledge of the lucid world was interfering with my experience. The fact i had my mobile was quite amazing though! Although I'm sure it was an old mobile and not my current one, which i never even questioned until i woke.
