Question Gender transformation in lucids / New life

(For those who find the huge wall of text daunting: skip to the last paragraph for the main reason of this post.)

Anybody on here had any experience with this? It's a main dream goal of mine to become a woman and I'm really not sure how to go about achieving it. I have this theory that once I find my Dream Guide he/she will be able to teach me how, but ideally I'd like to have this nailed by 2012, which is when I intend to coincide this goal with another, which is to begin another life (in a RPG style) and let things take their toll from there.

I've slacked off with dream recall for some time now, but just recently I finally managed to motivate myself again, so I'd class the time between now and the new year as a ''Recall preparation period'' so I can really beef it up.

My plan of action subsequently is to start fresh - with my lucid count, recorded dreams, etc - and completely change how my lucids are. I read about this ''Ninja world'' concept a while back which Matte came up with and this really lit my light-bulb up. What it basically was, was creating a portal and ending up in a Naruto-type world where you progressed as you would in a game or something, and really begin a completely different life at night. Since then I've taken the concept and tried to apply it to personal preferences, and I've established that I want to totally revamp how I go about my lucid adventures.

Firstly, (and most importantly) I don't want to do this in a male form. I want to take RP to a whole new level and live my ''night-life'' as a woman - purely as a woman. For those of you who don't know, I have a rather intense desire to become such in waking reality, but for religious reasons I can't do so. I feel this is the answer to my problems, as I don't have to worry about eternal or social consequences; it's totally harmless.

Secondly, in terms of ''dream powers'' I want to have to earn them and learn how to control them instead of simply thinking ''Oh, let's do this and this tonight''. I don't know about you guys, but I find that quite boring. I'd rather go on some massive quest-line to gain the power to influence people with my mind, or to control fire and spawn things, etc.

Thirdly, one of the first things I want to do when I enter my chosen universe is fly up high, take note of everything I possibly can, wake myself up and record it all on a huge map (lets say A3 as a starter). With time I'll add to this and really get used to the specific world(s) that I'm going to spend my lucid time in. I plan on re-entering this place when next lucid and finding some form of civilization. In essence, I'll create additional maps of everywhere I visit (like a main city, for example), really noting down every little detail.

Fourthly, (and this is where I haven't fully decided on what I'm going to do) I want my new life to have a specific theme to it. Since I like quite a lot of things, I reckon I'll either whittle it down to one specific theme or go hybrid. For example, I could choose to base things on the Abhorsen Trilogy (by Garth Nix, I would suggest reading it if you're into necromancy and such) or perhaps have a mix of Star Wars and Naruto. Like I said, I still haven't decided yet (although I'm quite liking the Abhorsen idea). There's just so much to choose from!

Ideally, I don't want to plan out my adventures too much. I think I'll just fill my mind with whatever my chosen theme is and let my dreams take their toll - pretty much lucidly going along with a storyline if that makes sense? I think that would make it all the more fun; not knowing what it is I'm going to experience next. Now and then I may influence what happens to bring in a bit more action or something, but the majority of things I want to keep untouched.

If possible, I'd like to have every lucid this way too. I've encountered a few flaws in my calculations though. I've thought up the concept that perhaps I could train myself to automatically teleport to my place of residence (in the new life) every time I got lucid (like you end up in your home every time you load up GTA), but I have no idea how to go about that. I could always work around it and access it via a portal/change of scenery every time I got lucid but I feel my 1st idea would help me get into the RP side of things better so it feels more real (with both ideas I'd need to master portal creation - another of my ''preparatory'' goals).

Anyway, I've kind of waffled on a bit more than originally intended. Any tips for the whole transforming into a woman thing?

Generally in dreams, one just sees through ones own eyes (as opposed to watching oneself) so if you want to be a woman then I'd argue you just are. I've had non-lucids like this. A couple times in lucids, I've tried to actually transform my body (once just looking down at myself, once in a mirror) with poor results. When I look in a mirror in a LD, my reflection tends to morph anyway as though I were looking in a carnival mirror. When I tried to look like a man I looked like a carnival mirror man, which I guess isn't surprising.

Also, I know you aren't asking about RL, but I think it's really sad when people are told they can't be themselves for religious reasons. I hope you have some queer positive people to talk to

I had a dream once where I lived a separate life as a girl, although I didn't know my true identity at that time in the dream. I then told myself hey I'm not a girl then i transformed back to normal and became lucid for a little. You can read the dream in my dream journal I think, it's quite interesting.

Most definitely. I think finding my dream guide will speed up the process tenfold.

This is true. I've tried morphing myself as well which hasn't turned out that well.. but like I said, I feel my dream guide will be able to help me do this, as anything is possible after all.

Also, I don't know if you meant it this way or not, but I'm not queer - totally straight. I just dislike being male is all. I guess you could say I want to be a lesbian.

Sorry that wasn't clear. I considered using LGBT but didn't know if you identified with any of those so I use queer as an all-encompassing word. It's the word I like best for myself as I'm not exactly gay or trans but not straight or cisgendered. 'Queer' includes more fringe identities like genderqueer, male lesbian and many more. That's why I like to some it all up in queer, but yeah, the old-fashioned verison of the word (and still to many people) just means gay so sorry for the confusion
