      What method was this?

I've begun to have LD's about twice a week. I'm enjoying it very much, but I cant put a name on the method thats inducing them.

Today I woke up at 7:30 and stayed up for about 2 hours. I layed down on my couch and I was very tired so I said "in a few minutes, Im just going to try a reality check and see what happens".

I was so sure that I was awake, but I tried to put my finger through my palm and it worked!

I dont think I can call that DILD or MILD because I was concious the whole time, but I cant call it WILD because it only took a few minutes and there was no hypnangogic imagery or sounds.

      any help?

I would say it's more like a WBTB than anything else...not entirely sure here though.

Yeah, sounds like the WBTB method with a dash of false awakening.

I know when I wake up early then go back to sleep, I'm more likely to have an LD, but more often than not, it will start out as a bunch of FAs until I do a reality check like you did.

That's cool though that you found a technique that's working for you!
