      Question About Lding.

Ive never had a lucid dream so I'll see if I can. So im in a lucid dream, let's say I'm flying around. Woohoo. So let's say I loose focus and fall. Darn. Im about to hit the ground, and I wake up. When I wake up, will be like, oh i was just, there. That was an amazing experience. Or is lucid dreaming just some memory which you know you did it in a normal dream, but you didn't really actually experience it.

Is it REAL? Or just some memory?

When it's happening it feels real, it's what your brain is creating right in that moment, then after waking up it's just a memory

But you will actually be there correct? When it's happening?

The reason lucid dreaming is so amazing is because when you wake up, you feel like you were literally just there, doing it.

      In example

I wake from a normal dream in which I was flying - "Oh, what an interesting dream, I'll write it down"
I wake from an LD in which I was flying - "WOW that was epic, I can't wait to do that again!"

That's why lucid dreaming is so amazing to me - It's like your actually there, in your own world, capable of doing anything and everything.

In normal dreams, that's not how I feel, it's like a memory, correct?

Normal dreams feel like just memories because you weren't aware when it was going on. The only time you really acknowledge it is when you wake up and by then it's just a memory. LDing you are aware during the dream which is the whole concept of it and why it's so amazing.

There are different levels of clarity in lucid dreams, don't forget that. But the majority of the time a lucid dream is as real as your life. After waking up from a flying lucid your stomach is still flipping, your heart still beating fast, you can still feel the cool air rushing past your face. It's not a memory, it really happens to you when it is happening.

I just went skydiving, in real life. Five minutes after I hit the ground, it felt like it was just a memory. Sadly, this is just the way memory works. The cool thing about a lucid dream is, you are aware of it while it is happening. You can think to yourself, "Holy crap, this is amazing, I hope I never forget this amazing feeling."

It's a memory just like everything else you do in real life.
I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.
