      Becoming spontaneously lucid

It's interesting: I have never used a reality check to become lucid. I always seem to all of a sudden go *BANG* "I'm dreaming. Or usually I say something corny but dramatic like "Only I have the power to save you... because I am dreaming (!!!!!!)" I always seem to just become lucid spontaneously and unnexpectedly. Can anyone else do this?

Yea so far this is the only way I can become lucid this often happens after WBTB, I would much rather be able to do WILDS. Sometimes during my normal nights sleep I just become lucid during the middle of a dream.

      Becoming Lucid

Most of the time it just hits me that I am dreaming.

When I am dreaming, if I think about whether or not I am dreaming, I know immediately that I am just by thinking about it. If I think about it and I'm not, I know immediately that I am not. My main reality check, therefore, is simply taking a second to wonder whether or not I am dreaming.

I do the reality checks just for fun.

the only way i do this is when my dreams are so hyper-real that i'm like "hey, its so real, it must be a dream!". i just have more consciousness in my dreams when they are more real.

The one time I have become Lucid I was just letting my dream go on when, like you said, *BANG* Lucidity. It was pretty convenient for my first LD to not really have to work for it.

In all of my good lucids, that's how it has worked. I'm just there, doing whatever, and BAM! I'm lucid. Usually, something tips me off to the possibility of dreaming, and as soon as I realize that possibility, I'm lucid. Like Neo Neo, this often happens during my most realistic dreams, where my reasoning also seems to be of a higher level than most dreams.

Yup about 90% of Lucid Dreams I have are spontaneous. I've created a thread on this concept previously check it out sometime.

Yeah most of my lucids just happen though I had this one streak the other mornign when I woke up early and kept going back to sleep for a long time and I would be lucid everytime I went back to sleep, It must have been like 5 times in like 45 minutes where I was slipping from awake to asleep and I would just been in a dream and I was like "Wait lets start over" and I would wake up and 5 seocndes later I would be in the same part of the dream again It was cool

None of my lucid dream were ever innitiated by dream signs or reality checks. They were just spontanious. However, I want to get in the habit of doing reality checks in real life and in my dreams so I can become lucid even more.
