SP when awake..anyone else get this

      Hi there
There's something I've been meaning to ask about but keep forgetting so here goes:

Sometimes when I wake up be it from a WILD or just a normal dream I wake with all the signs of SP but no paralysis..let me explain more.....I wake up and I have the "swooshing" noise in my head and the throbbing also the fuzziness that you get...if you've had SP you'll understand that bit...anyway while I have this I decide to go loo or get a drink and it's still happening then I go back to bed and the second, and I mean literally the second I lie down on my pillow it's back in full SP, literally that second and it drags me straight into a WILD...now how can you be awake but have the signs of SP ((apart from the paralysis)) I walk about etc and still have it all and it just won't go...I haven't heard anyone talk about this before and would like to know if anyone else gets this. I don't know weather it's anything to do with th fact that I am a natural and have spontaneous SP and WILDS or what...I'm a little confused about this. Maybe Macon or someone can help me understand this a little more lol, hope you guys reply and help me out here...maybe I'm just mad eh lol

      Hi, Angie746

It probably is down to you being a 'natural'. However I'm not an expert IMO, it does strike me as unusual given the usual definition of SP, where generally you attempt to move your main muscles and the 'spell' is broken.

Presumably, from your description, you have already ruled out possible FA's from the equation?

With me, when I tried a WILD, after a WBTB recently. I had the feeling of the very intense relaxation, the numbness, etc. as you go into the SP stage. I immediately thought to myself that I've had that intense feeling before - Except when I've been awake!
I have tried to emulate, or work out how and when I did it. The only explanation (with me) being the relaxation?

One question however that springs instantly to mind Angie. Did you ever sleepwalk, or have a history of sleepwalking when you were younger?

      Hi Rob
I have ruled out it being a FA, I'm deffo awake and no I have never sleep walked, I suppose if I had done then that might make a bit more sense of this. Funny enough today I'm not too well, a little flued up and several times today I have had the head throbbing sensation, the same I get when in SP and at that point in time things seem like a dream..only for the few seconds it lasts, I have also got the "swooshing" noise in my ears when my head throbs. Weird isn't it. It's always the left side of my brain that feels like it throbs and that is the side which is associated with LD I think, maybe it's just happening for a few seconds while I'm awake then goes, but it's happened a lot today but in short burst (( am I rambling now lol)) would love to know why it's happening though. Thanks so much for your reply I really appreciate it

No problem regarding the reply. I didn't think it would be an FA from your post, but just wanted to make sure you had ruled it out completely. If you have a bit of the 'flu, then I suppose that might, in the short term, explain the effect with the ear noise, due to the sinus channels and the head throbbing. If in doubt check with your GP.
Other than that, it may be that you know your body's physiology really well from your LD work?

With me, I have noticed the odd time early in the morning, when asleep on my side (light sleep) I have had a feeling of slightly falling then being ok, but I can't remember if I get a slight noise or sensation, in my ears at the same time?
I don't know why, but I have got this idea in my head that it's a slight physiological change like my blood pressure dropping, then suddenly coming back up, as relaxation tends to lower heart rate, etc?
      Now I'm rambling!
