I say try a different technique. I've had over 100 LD's without ever setting an alarm. Don't let your attempts at LD'ing take over your life so much that it diarupts regular sleep.

Try combining SSILD, MILD, WBTB, and WILD.

First do SSILD before going to bed. When you wake up naturally during the night, go grab a quick drink from your fridge while repeating mantras (MILd) and get back in bed (WBTB). Then if you want, do SSILD again while doing WILD.

I've had great success with doing that.
