      Please, help with W.I.L.D.

      Dear forum community,

I've been trying to achieve WILD, but so far with no success. I try every night, but I end up either falling asleep, or not being able to fall asleep for many hours. Are there any tricks that can help?

      Thank you!

Don't worry, keep trying. It's good that you fall asleep in the try instead of not being able to sleep.

Just keep trying, WILDing is not an easy thing. Read threads that teach you how to stay focused during relaxation. You won't get steps of how to do WILD from there but you will get the general idea, then it's yourself. YOU have to research what it's the best method that you can use. For example: you are trying to induce sleep paralysis (which is wrong to aim that) and you read on a post that counting to 100 is a good option however that doesn't work for you, it keeps you awake therefore you must search your own way.

The trick is learning how to hold on to consciousness while still allowing your mind to drift towards sleep. You do this by gradually weakening the strength of your consciousness. If you weaken it too much and too quickly you lose it completely and then fall asleep. If you don't weaken it enough your mind can't drift towards sleep.

Here's a metaphor I put together to help describe the process.
