      Wink First Lucid dream!

A few months ago I was trying to experience lucid dreams with no success and this morning it happened by accident. I said in my dream this is my dream and suddenly there was a huge rush (it felt like I was shaking and things got brighter). Next thing I knew I was in my bed, I spent a few moments trying to figure out how to move and there was a game-like tutorial making me press a button. Although I was moving it felt like i was trying to move without actually moving (pushing through a barrier). When I managed to stand up I had double vision (my bedroom in one eye and my kitchen in the other). Then I opened my bedroom door and tried to walk down the stairs when I woke up.

I know not much happened and it was really short but it was really exciting.. Has anyone else had anything similar to this? .. If you remember your first lucid dream what was it like? ^_^

Most people get really excited and have a rush the first time they have a lucid dream. They're usually so excited that they wake up shortly after becoming lucid. My first lucid dream however, I wasn't very excited. I was being chased by a group of demonic children across a playground. When I became lucid I forced myself to wake up by moving my real body.

Ok I am trying to understand this. We're you actually standing up when you awoke or was that in the dream? The double vision thing meaning one eye could see one room and the other eye saw another room? That is way cool. Were you seeing the rooms differently or exactly as in waking vision. Usually o.b.e. vision is more distorted. Is this more like an o.b.e. anyone or a mixture?

I think she meant she was standing up inside the dream and was seeing two different locations in the dream. Personally I don't believe in out of body experiences. I think they are just odd dreams that trick people into thinking they actually left their bodies.

Yeah I was standing up in my dream, and yes they were exactly like in waking vision, they were not blurry at all, it was as if I could decide which room I was in, it was pretty cool. I also saw my dog at the top of the stairs (who was alseep at the time) so I don't think it was an o.b.e. Also I heard that in an o.b.e you can see your own body but when I looked at my bed I wasn't there.

Congrats on your first lucid dream! I have had similar short LD's before. They do get longer with practice and conditioning. I remember one where I walked through my house, saw several people talking and laughing in a room, walked outside and an old tree tried to talk to me. It was quite fantastic!
