So I just read the SOBT and it sounds pretty good and I was wondering if anyone has used this book as there basis on LDing/OBE or "The Phase" as he calls it. Or just used it to get some LDs here and there any positive/negative feedback appreciated. |

"I know that I am mortal by nature, and ephemeral; but when I trace at my pleasure the windings to and fro of the heavenly bodies I no longer touch the earth with my feet: I stand in the presence of Zeus himself and take my fill of ambrosia, food of the gods." - Claudius Ptolemy

Sounds like a cult. No offense. |

"I am accustomed to sleep and in my dreams to imagine the same things that lunatics imagine when awake."
-Rene Descartes
The book doesn't deal with paranormal stuff, it just describes a DEILD technique. "The Phase" is just a general term for being in a lucid dream or OBE or whatever you want to call it. |
|
First of all, Raduga (founder of this "school") is a materialist who believes that OBEs are just lucid dreams, much like many folks here on DV. No cultish stuff to be found. It's really just a bunch of DEILD techniques, as mentioned above. |
|
I think his methods are great, despite the unfortunate name of his book. It's the best guide to DEILDs I've ever seen. |
|
Lucid dreams and obe's i'm sorry to say are the exact same thing. How do I know this? common sense... Why else would you use the exact same method for each? Plus I don't need you to say that I can decide if it is "good" or "bad" hence my question. |

I'm not talking about anything "paranormal", just LDs. If you think LDs are paranormal then... |

It’s a shame that in the western world especially in the USA issues like Lucid Dreams, Astral Projection Research, and other metaphysical topics are always looked down upon. As either bogus or "it’s in their head" stuff, or looked as being evil. I agree there are shamers out there and a lot of these new age authors I think are just trying to make a buck off this topic. But when I talk to people in the eastern countries like India on chat programs and they're into learning and understanding this stuff and open if not use to these issues. I talk too family/friends here in the states and I either get "Its all nonsense...science doesn’t support it….etc" or "it’s of the devil...its satanic...it’s not of Jesus and you'll go to hell for doing it and not following the bible." So you're kind of behind the eight ball of the the fundie religions or the secular live/die only mentality for having an open mind on spiritual things in the USA (speaking in general terms.) I can understand the secular view…especially since Lucid Dreaming is something you don’t understand unless you try it, and it really has nothing to do with theology. But I I hate when I’m on a forum or talking to someone on these topics, and some guy or gal starts with the “Not the in bible…you’ll practicing witchcraft and Gods judgment will befall on you…we’re in the last days” same old nonsense comments. |

I read radugas pdf and found it interesting and yes, basically DEILD. I tried it out but could not get his rollout of bed approach to work, but then have not had success with DEILD either. I am strictly DILD. But I believe he is legit and his methods should work. His idea of diving to the ground to prolong a dream did work for me sort of... I did dive and kept going... Think I just quit too soon. Nothing weird in his book... Like reading laberge. |

PS I am a Christian so we are not all close minded.. |
|
Naw, never meant to say all xians are closed minded. You're probably one of those open minded more liberal Christians that are still open to stuff. I was talking mostly about the "Rapture Ready" Christians. The ones that believe we're in the last days, Jesus is the only way and everything else is evil, and the bible should be the only authority to any religions or spiritual beliefs. Like when you say "Im into Lucid Dreaming...even though LD has nothing to do with religion" they wipp out thee old OT verse from Leviticus 20:27 lol. But I don't see Lucid Dreaming being or having anything to do with New Age (even though Im into that stuff myself) unless one wants it to be. Anyone can LD if they put effort into it. Doesnt require a special book, or spiritual belief, worshipping some deity, or its something only one special group can do over others. |

Gentlemen, OBEs and LDs are similar but not the same. EEGs are clear on this. Some EEGs on OBE subjects even show that they are wide awake-- no REM to be found. |
