      Falling Asleep With Music

I can never fall asleep with music, but I've always wanted to. It be a good DILD inducer too, in a way. Think to yourself, "Why is there random music playing?". Anyway, it would be cool to have a lucid dream with music in the background. Like have a scene, or a fight that goes with the music. It would be badass. So, you sleeping music listeners, can you give me any tips on how to fall asleep easier with music?

I can't say I've ever fallen asleep to music, however I do know from past experience that sounds can be heard and manipulate the dream. The reason I can never fall asleep listening to an isochronic tone (a brainwave entrainer that doesn't require headphones) is simply because the app that it's on doesn't support a loop or a playlist so I manually have to pick up the phone and press play again. Is the music you're talking about looped? If not then I'm inclined to believe that it's because your mind is focussed on knowing the song will end, if it's looped then the subconscious responsibility of replaying the song will be loosed if not rid of entirely, that's if the fact the song will end doesn't distract you anyway. A shortened explanation is that basically I think you might be letting the music distract you even if you don't know it.

Try listening to soothing music or sounds, sounds of nature are lovely when you're tired and/or you're just trying to relax. I like your idea of soundtracks turning your dream into some sort of movie though.

Well, I just listen to a YouTube playlist of chill electronic music. I'll try and visualize what I'd see in my dream with the music.

I will just leave this here... Digitally Imported - addictive electronic music. Try the vocal trance channel for some epic soundtracks.

Sometimes on a morning when my alarm goes off (my alarm is shuffled iPod music that just keeps playing until I press stop) I fall back to sleep and often dream about the music that is on. It's usually a massive dream sign but it hasn't happened since I started practising lucid dreaming because it happens to have coincided with me starting a second job so I don't have the snooze time I used to. But when it did happen, I would enter a dream where I was watching the band perform the music I was hearing. For example I had the foo fighters album as my alarm and I dreamt through the whole thing that I was at their gig but only me and my brother were there watching them and it was at a tiny venue in my home town.

It's also happened where the music is too loud and I have been on my computer during the dream and have been trying to turn off the music then becoming really confused as to why it wouldn't turn off. I think it's a good ld induction technique but maybe not the most reliable. I'm gunna try it tomorrow morning as I have the day off so thanks for reminding me hahaha

      Hope that's helful

Snap! I made an REM detector and wrote a program that plays music whenever I start dreaming. Here are some tracks I cut for it that you can add to your playlist: Tracks « LSDBase.
