WILD Within Dream? Inception?

I gave up on WILDing a little while back, but this has happened to me twice now, both recently.

I start having a dream, and in that dream, I am lying on my bed. I think it to be real life, and I start to fall asleep in the dream. But, just as I do in real life sometimes, I pull myself out of the sleeping state and wake up (to the first dream layer), just a few seconds after starting to fall asleep.

However, then someone knocks on the door of my bedroom and asks me something. I try to answer them, but find that I can't. I panic a little bit, then try to move my body. I realize that I'm in sleeping paralysis, and close my (dream) eyes, to attempt to WILD. Almost immediately, I start seeing hypnagogic imagery and hearing strange sounds, something I was never able to do in past WILD attempts. And then I have a lucid dream, although the "lucid" part is in regards to the first dream layer, not actually awake.

Does this count as a WILD? DILD? When I tried WILDing before, I always got too excited or nervous. Will this experience help me in staying calm?

Sounds like a DEILD to me, although i was a little confused about what you said. I could be wrong.

I've performed "WILDS" in my dream before. It happens when I think I am in waking life so I attempt to WILD. It's good because it's an easy way to become lucid because all that really happens is the dreamscape changes. I never realize that I didn't really WILD until I wake up.

omg i did the same thing. I had a dream that i was about to WILD and I did for the first time. It was crazy. I was flying through the sky but i was underwater at the same time.

This happened to me the other night. I was dreaming trying to attempt a WILD but then suddenly I became aware spontaneously. I would classify my experience as a DILD though.
