My attempts at lucidity in my dreams

Now I'll admit that I am very new to the prospect of lucid dreaming, but I have noticed some things about my dreams:

Most of my dreams I either become lucid in or I remember vivid details about all seem to take place in the same "universe" per se. My dreams usually involve real life situations, such as one I had where I spent my time at a beach near my home. This dream space was vastly different from the beach near my house, as it had entirely different landscapes and a layout that was... unnatural. For instance, the houses down at this location would've been flooded at high tide, as it was low tide in my dream. I remember the primitive rowboats near one house and such. In this particular dream I failed to achieve lucidity, but the dream ended with me drowning, because for some reason I sank like an anchor in the water.

This landscape is recognizable to me in some details, but overall, it is very convincing and elaborate. My most recent lucid dream ended very abruptly. It involved me driving into a city, one that I had had a dream in before (I remember some of the landscape in it) As I drove into the city I was stopped and informed by a military man that the city is under attack, and he recommended I turn around. I declined and went onward. The city rapidly changed from normal to a fire filled hazard. I drove around, and I achieved lucidty once I saw a bank building that had "NationsBank" across its side. I then remembered NationsBank went defunct in 1998 per a conversation with a friend, and I realized I was dreaming. I looked around then, and I saw that the fire was mostly gone, and I spent the rest of the time exploring my dreamspace, drifiting in and out of lucidity in that I sometimes reverted to the dream taking control. This particular dream ended when my car collided with a barrier on a bridge, as I was startled by an air raid siren, which was of course my alarm.

Thanks for reading but I just wanted to share and discuss this and see if anyone here has anything to add, comment or share...

Dreams can often be so bizzarre and different from reality, so different that it amazes me how most of us are not lucid all the time. You are veryyy lucky to have lucids all the time. You are what we call a natural and many people on this forum would kill to have your ability. Very nice story by the way.

as I said it is not easy to maintain lucidity for me, as I often will drift in and out of controlling my own dreams. But for a while I had horrible, terrifying dreams due to the immense stress I faced in high school. And I often have to 'kick' myself awake and then immediately return to sleep in order to attain lucidity when I am not so lucky as to have dreams like the ones I have mentioned. A lot of my dreams, however, are very symbolic, and eerie, sort of like the game Limbo. It is just so... odd.
