      What am I doing wrong?

Ok I've been trying to have an OBE or anything really but it can't go any worse. I've layed on my back not moving at all for 20 minute, It now gets harder to move but you folks made it very clear that its not partial paralysis or anything like that. I stay in that pose with that feeling for well over 45 minutes and I can't doze off or anything, It gets to the point im so uncomfortable I HATH to move. A couple times I felt sick from it. My damn body won't budge into sleep or attempted sleep and it gets aggravating as hell no matter how I try to relax. What am I doing wrong? I know i'm not ready for lucidity but I want something other than just laying there still for an hour and a half.

My guess is you are probably to excited, and don't get mad or it DEFINANTLY won't work. I haven't succeeded, but I know that believing is the key. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply, its not Ive been excited, Ive attempted this quite a few times with an empty head and calm breathing patterns but eventually I can only handle so much patience. I'm just mad at it today since im feeling sick from it somehow, I can't explain it but laying there for so long with my mind drifting makes my body feel HORRIBLE and something forces me just to move to a comfortable positions

DONT MOVE! that's what your doing wrong. The brain sends a signal to your muscles. If you're asleep, you won't respond. YOU ALMOST DID IT! next time, try as hard as you can to avoid moving. If it doesn't move to the next stage, maybe WILDing isn't right for you.

I suppose wilding wont work, The hour and a half was nothing but stillness until I couldn't handle it anymore.

Is there any other methods that don't involve waking up at 4:30

So far, doing reality checks and repeating the words 'I will have a lucid dream' in my head at night has helped a bit. I've had a few short seconds of lucidity after doing a reality check. Four dreams so far. And when you become lucid, demand 'clarity now' if your sight is blurry. Hope it helps! Also, constantly question your reality, actually think about it. Every time I preform a reality check, I ask myself 'am I dreaming?' And I truly attempt to figure it out. Good luck!

If you trying to WILD, I strongly suggest you read the WILD class in the academy and every thread you can find in the WILD forum.

Just a few quick pointers, but they will not help, if you don't read more about WILDing.

      1. you can move (read more about this, because there is more to this)
      2. you should be in comfortable position
      3. if you miserable doing it, it will not work

Maybe you're stressing yourself out by concentrating too hard on staying still? Maybe you should use something to get your mind off the fact that you're completely still ... It helps me to listen to something on my iPod, like binaural beats or some sort of guided meditation or something. I also have an app called Relax Melodies that helps me a lot.
