Thumbs down Son of a poop

My reality checks NEVER FREAKING WORK! I just woke up from an amazing dream that would have made me the happiest little potato on this planet, and I was doing several reality checks every time I could during the dream and they checked out.

OK I know this one is probably useless anyway, but for the hell of it I tried the spinning top thing from inception and it stopped and fell over 100% realistically. I looked at a digital clock, clear as day. Looked at an analog one, clear as day. I even pulled out my phone and read texts that I had left from yesterday that I hadn't deleted. The font and size and color and everything was identical to my real phone. And I did a few other things. (keeping in mind I've tried all the basic ones several times in the past and they don't work either)

      What the hell?
      WHAT
      THE
      HELL?
Is it that THIS is a dream and being awake is supposed to be the non-important part of our life? Because, like I said, in my dreams I'm infinitely happy; my life sucks though...

Does anyone know what I can do? It's really disappointing to get up and see that that person you've loved for 5 years still doesn't care about you in reality. I mean, I should be writing a paper right now and instead I can't stop thinking about what just happened and what life would be like if it was real.

Hmm the reality checks you did never works for me either. Have you tried to really examine your hands or plug your nose and try to breathe?
Unless you have have a filled up nose, I can't see it failing if you do it twice =)

Like I said, I've tried all the basic ones that most people know about.

WTF Double post again... (Sorry Admins)

Strychnine ok yeah I read that I just can't see how those would fail. But I believe you they have failed for me as well, but not every time.
You could start practicing DEILD because then you would almost not need to do a reality check at all when you are in the dream. But that's just a suggestion.

      Good luck

(Now I am going to click ONCE and hopefully it's not going to be a double post...)

Strychnine, here is a list of alternatives:
      1. Try to Recognize dream signs of you don't already
      2. Try to inflict pain on your self (not major or cuts just in case your IRL )
      3. Try to move stuff with your mind
      4. Read peoples thoughts
      5. Hum a tune out loud if it reverberates like crazy your in a dream
      6. Cough, it should feel weird
      7. Any thing else with breathing...
      8. umm... ok im out...

Create your own reality checks perhaps?
Reality checks haven't worked for me yet.
But I've heard DEILD is a good method for beginners.
      Check out Dutchraptors Deild Guide.
It's good and it's worked for many people. Good luck!

Yep, try doing your own personal RCs. Also, when you do reality checks, expect that they will not work, rather than thinking "they might or might not work". I think it helps more if you think as if you're dreaming all along, and doing reality checks to see if you're awake, rather than the other way around. Expectation plays a huge role in reality checks, so when you do them, you have to really imagine them not working so if ever you're dreaming, they will indeed not work

Have you tried magic RCs? I like magic RCs because you can do them without too much motion. What I do is stare at an object and try to change its color, or make it move, or basically anything. I also hold up my palm and try to create a fireball. It's a very awesome feeling when I hold up my hand, and a fireball appears. (when im dreaming ofc)

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
